I went to coloed my hair medium dark blonde and they colored it black. Also burned my scalp and damaged my hair. They said the color was going to get lighter with washes but never happened. I have very thick, natural hair. I’ve been going here for at least 5 years to get a blowout. They always ask if I want a deep condition, which is an additional cost, to which I usually reply yes. On this particular visit I was on a budget and declined the deep conditioning treatment. The lady who shampoos pretended to use conditioner and proceeded to comb through my hair. I got my hair blown out, straightened, paid, and left. Once home, I realized the horrible bald patches in my head. She didn’t use any conditioner at all and instead ripped out my hair. The woman who straightened my hair had to have seen the damage but said nothing except you owe me thirty dollars. My head and scalp hurt for days. I went back the next day to speak with the manager but the associates claimed she was not there and pretended not to speak English. I was extremely upset that I had been scalped so I just decided to leave before an incident occurred.

Critical: Professionalism, ValueLoved this place at one point. Visited this shop for the first time in about two years on a natural no heat no chemical journey. The lady asked if I wanted a deep conditioner, I declined. She washed (4x) , cut and styled my hair into a bob. The next day as I’m in the shower I begin to smell a strong smell like a perm, it was so strong other people noticed afterwards. A week after I washed my hair and it began to come out in clumps. At that point I really could notice my hair was processed with some type chemicals, my curl pattern was messed up and my thick hair was no longer thick anymore but thin and stringy. Two weeks later which is today I washed my hair again, the smell changed, but the curl pattern still hasn’t come back and my hair is still shedding really bad to a noticeable point. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM PLEASE .. They are clearly processing people’s hair without permission. I had really thick and full hair now it’s very thin and shedding because of them!!! Positive: CleanlinessMy first visit was great but on my last visit , the person to wash my hair was very rough and didn’t know how to detangle natural hair properly . Once I got home, my aunt informed me that my hair was short on one side in the back. It was literally a huge chunk missing & I recently had to cut most of my hair off .. Once I got home, my aunt informed me that my hair was short on one side in the back. It was literally a huge chunk missing & I recently had to cut most of my hair off .. But I’ve continued to come here strictly since! Living in Dover, Baltimore and now DC I still come to this salon to get my trims, haircuts and blowouts. I trust them with my hair and am never upset with poor outcomes. Due to the heat I don’t get blowouts often but a couple times a year I make the drive here. Then I’ve never had issues with my curls bouncing back. Every time I get wash, deep condition, roller set, and blowout. Never fails. Definitely recommend for a blowout. I started going to this salon in college (‘08 or ‘09) after an awful experience at a new salon in Dover where I lived. Believe I found this salon online. But I’ve continued to come here strictly since! Living in Dover, Baltimore and now DC I still come to this salon to get my trims, haircuts and blowouts. They do a great job. When my usual hair salon is booked I go here. For $25 you can’t beat how good your hair straightened and it’s never stiff. Their probably is perm or some kind of chemical in the shampoo cause even my hair dresser asked if I got a perm when I came back to her and she was washing it and we smelled the perm smell. Idk. But I definitely would recommend it. Good bang for your buck. Thank you ladies

Place is not the same anymore. I don’t know if all the people changed but some definitely did. The guy that came in to wash my hair. He was ok but he came from outside smelling of cigarettes and just came straight to wash my hair. Didn’t wash his hands or the comb that was sitting in the sink before hand. And it seems like they make up prices on the spot and i dont find that very professional. Besides that the blowout came out fine.

With covid regulations you now must schedule people so a person that has a 11 o’clock appointment will more than likely come a few minutes before that time. So if your waiting and someone comes in after you, doesn’t mean THEY DO NOT HAVE AN APPOINTMENT. Be mindful that this salon has been around for years so they must be doing something right. As a consumer always make sure that everyone is on board with what you want done BEFORE you sit in the chair. Someone in the shop speaks English (free translation) just for people like me lol. I recommend if you use specific products in your hair then you should bring them with you so you don’t have different results. With covid regulations you now must schedule people so a person that has a 11 o’clock appointment will more than likely come a few minutes before that time.
