I went here a few weeks ago. I liked how my hair turned out. The service could have been better. I don’t like the amount of heat that was put on my hair. Overall okay experience but use less heat. Just because a person has thick or 4c type doesn’t mean use a lot of heat.

I didn’t get a chance to get my daughters her hair done. I called them in advance the day before and the day of to confirm if I can bring my daughter in to get her hair straightened. I was told over the phone I can bring her and was given a price for there services. I also confirmed her age and they told me I can bring her in. However when I got to the front door of the business. A random woman smoking a cigarette outside the shop told me my daughter wasn’t old enough to receive services at the shop. I told her she’s not getting braids because I was talking to my daughter out loud asking her if she wanted to get braids instead of her hair straightened. My daughter said no and I told the woman we’re not getting braids we were going into the hair salon to get her hair straightened. The woman followed us in and we inquired with the employees and said we called about getting my daughters hair done. Before the employees could respond the woman outside spoke up and said my daughter is too young to get her done at her shop. I said you don’t even know her age and she got it done at a different but similar salon. She said she do not care and that my daughter cannot get her hair done because she’s the owner and it’s her shop. One of the employees spoke and said they could do her hair. But she said no it’s her shop she no and the environment is to hot for my daughter to get her hair done there. I told her I called ahead and asked because we didn’t want to travel real far for the shop she usually goes to. She then proceeded to ignore me, snicker her teeth and sat down. My daughter and I left the shop with nothing else to say and I looked at there shop online and found they have an Instagram page. Elpueblo52st I went on there page and saw that they posted a picture of a child who got her hair done there and my daughter is probably just as big as she was. After I saw that I decided to write this review. Someone told me the shop owner was racist against white people and I told them if that’s what they think then it’s there opinion but I can’t speak on that. She only told me my daughter can’t get her done. My daughter is Irish/German/Puerto Rican and African American. I am African American/Irish. My daughter’s skin is similar to a white girl and I am brown skinned but it didn’t cross my mind that she denied me because of race. I was told I was denied because she didn’t feel like having my daughters hair done there. But whatever the case the owner was unprofessional and rude and I will never suggest there shop or inquire about there services ever again.

I walked in and was not greeted but met with a confusing cold hostility from the older woman at the front desk. As I explained what I wanted she only told me what they couldn’t do and offered no other alternative while acting as if my presence was annoying her. The shampooing was very rough and the lady who blow dried my hair was literally yanking it with the brush. Disappointed and overall dissatisfied with my experience. Would not recommend, never going back

New ppl alert. When I went to get my hair done I was surprised by new hair stylist here. I didn’t know but it was two different arguments going on about them giving children hot oil treatments. Customers said they are getting over and falsely recommending hot oil treatments when not needed. My hair how ever was nice got a wrap for $35.

Critical: Professionalism, Quality, ValueThey were VERY rude, I told the lady the dryer was too hot & she laughed and kept going. I now have scapes in my head. Also, I went to pay for my hair and the front desk lady was in her phone. I had to say something for her to take the money, she then snatches my money out my hand and slams my change on the desk. The women there are quiet and just assume you been there before…but i caught on fast. Other than that great and fast service.wait time about 5 min..wash time 20min my hair is pretty greasy…straightening time, trim, and pin curl about 1hr 1/2..( the heat on my scalp was a killer :+( …really good for natural hair if your looking for a change and not expensive at all…down side is the heat but that’s to be expected and minimize my how often I go.
