I was really looking forward to this visit and was very excited to pamper myself and get my hair done as opposed to blowdrying it myself, which I usually do. I was afraid of being late so I skipped a coffee run. And I’m not sure if being early was just as annoying, because it felt like I was an inconvenience when I came in. I was told that my stylist wasn’t here yet which was totally okay. I went to the bathroom to kill time and sat down. When the stylist arrived, I knew she needed time to set up and settle in, which again is totally understandable. But I still sat there without being acknowledged at all, or even asked for my name. After a couple of minutes, I was directed to the shampoo chair while again feeling like I was an inconvenience. Wasn’t asked how I was, if it was my first time visiting (which it was) or anything. The entire environment from start to finish was cold. I booked a scalp massage, didn’t get one, and didn’t complain because maybe she simply forgot which is perfectly okay. But I didn’t feel taken cared of, or even cared for. I actually started to tear up because I felt so uncomfortable. I wanted to leave. Once the visit was done, I asked the receptionist if I would be charged for the scalp massage and she went to confirm. She came back and simply asked if I wanted to pay with the card on file for just the blowout. I couldn’t really talk because I was afraid I would cry if I spoke more so I simply nodded my head. Despite this, I left a tip because maybe the ladies were having a bad day and I still think my stylist did a great job on my hair. I say all this for the next girl who comes in for her first visit. I will try again on a better day, maybe with a friend so I don’t feel so alone.

My stylist did a nice job on my hair but was very unfriendly, and it was genuinely a sort of bizarre experience. There was no one at the front desk when I arrived and I ended up waiting for a few minutes before anyone came to the front, I don’t even know the stylists name because she pretty much said nothing the entire appointment, I felt super uncomfortable and awkward. I would not return to this location again, nor would I recommend it. Working in customer service myself I was taken aback honestly, because I personally would not act this way with a guest.

This DryBar location is great! The girls at the front desk and the ones performing the actual services are very respectful, funny and have a lot of topics to talk about while getting my hair done. The barfly girls are very knowledgeable of the blowing techniques especially on a hair like mine which is not straight and it is not super curly, and tends to get puffy on humid days. Their blow can last almost my entire work week with the only use of the sparkling soda during the week to refresh my blow dry. The barflies take their time to make sure that my hair at the end of the services is up to my expectations. I’m always leaves happy … 🙂
