I’m traveling from NC and this was my first experience at a dry bar and it was such a fun time! My stylist’s name is Marisol and she was a true delight!! We held conversation throughout the entire time. I felt so comfortable and at home as soon as I walked in the door. I will be returning to the Raleigh location when I get home and if I’m ever in San Antonio in the future, I’m definitely visiting Marisol again! Thanks so much girl for a good time and a beautiful head of hair, I’ve already gotten many compliments!

I had an appointment booked in advance with Angel. When I walked in today, they let me know Angel was running slightly behind. I had no problem waiting, and moved to the side. Within the next few minutes, the front desk approached me and said Angel would not be able to take my appointment after all as her appointment before me (new customer) had more hair than anticipated. I told them I had no problem waiting a little longer than the few minutes they initially told me. The front desk further explained that if they began my style late, that would make Angel late for her next appointment after me. To me, an easy fix would have been to call any later appointments and let them know in advance Angel was running late. However, it’s not acceptable to cancel a customer on the spot who had the appointment booked in advance and arrived on time. I shared my suggestion with the front desk and all I got was “I can’t do that”. They also suggested a dry style, which would have been fine if they let me know in advance. In the end, my 3pm appointment was moved to 5pm with Angel, as Angel agreed to stay later than she was supposed to. Today’s visit showed me a few things: 1. Angel is truly an angel as she had no control over how the front desk was handling this situation and agreed to stay late to make things right with the customer. 2. The front desk does not know how to handle a situation when a new customer arrives with more hair than expected, thus meaning they’ll need a longer style session. 3. The front desk’s decision today (on behalf of DryBar) shows they do not value all clients time and needs.

We did a wash/dry and curl style with a braid. The entire process took 2 hours from start to finish and I felt like the curling iron was too hot and being held on my hair sections for too long, burning my hair. My stylist wasn’t trained in doing a braid yet so someone else stepped in, but the braids were not quite what I wanted so we had to redo them twice – in all fairness I wasn’t quite sure how to describe the braid I wanted. The braid had one 4 inch long (?!) loose bobby pin in it that wasn’t doing anything to keep the end of the braid tight against my head… So it was sagging and the hair tie was sticking out. I had virtually no volume except for the teasing they did at the end to fix the braid being completely covered by the rest of my hair. I was late to my event. The entire service cost $68 after the 20% tip. I wanted to treat myself to something nice but this was more stressful than anything. I don’t think I’ll be back which is a bummer.

My favorite and only place to get the perfect blowout! And I have textured hair, so believe me I’ve been to many places until I found the ONE! Make sure you let them know in advance if you have textured hair so they can have you booked with a specialist.

The place itself was great and the young man who did my hair was so sweet but maybe a little inexperienced? I didn’t feel like my hair was clean from the beginning. I told him he wouldn’t hurt me and to go for it but he was still pretty tentative. I also don’t think the shampoo or conditioner was adequately rinsed out, they they piled on the products. By the next day, my hair was an itchy, sticky mess and liked sort of like Florence Henderson in Brady Bunch (I asked for wavy but I got 80s politician). $55 out the door and it lasted one day. Maybe it works for other people but not for me. If I do go back, I’ll be giving directions the whole time which will not probably be fun for me or them but my hair only usually needs to be washed every three-four days, so one day was quite a bust.

Critical: QualityI am so disappointed!! I got my hair done for my son’s first birthday party at The Dry Bar at the Quarry. I am from NY visiting family and read all the great reviews from this location; so I was so excited to come and get my hair done. It looked beautiful when I left!! However, when I got home (just a 15 minute drive) ALL the curls had completely fallen out; it was as if nothing had been done. I had to completely re-do my hair, which by the way I had no time for bc I had to prepare my son’s party. I am very frustrated that I spent $60 PLUS a tip on getting my hair done and 15 minutes later after leaving, all the curls had fallen out!Service: HairstylingI am so disappointed!!
