The 1st time I was planning to get services, I booked online. As I was en route (Chicago traffic) l was called to say there is an online booking error and my appointment had to be canceled. I couldn’t even be seen that day. She offered to reschedule for a different day and time, but I have a baby at home so I cant book under that short notice bc I have to make sure I have a babysitter lined up.

The last time I went to Dream Dry for a blowout it was amazing. This time not so much. I had an early morning appointment with Ariel to get blowout for a wedding later in the afternoon. I came at 7:01am. Although I was the only one there at the time, my hair wash was rushed and rough. I explained to Ariel that I wanted a blowout with volume and some curls throughout that would hold for the day. She did the blowout and pinned to keep the curls as normal, but then proceeded to brush the entire thing out and curl my hair with a hot iron. I ended up with piecey, bottom heavy, ringlets. Not at all the blowout look I was going for. When I asked her if she could put more body and curls throughout to make it look less ringlet, she didn’t seem happy. She told me to just run my fingers through more when I got home. Well, did that, doesn’t look any better. I’m sitting here trying to fix with my own curling iron and texture spray. Worth going back and some of the stylists are great, but I’ll be sure to book with someone else next time

Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Punctuality, QualityI had an excellent experience at DreamDry – Lincoln Park! I booked ‘The Blowout’ because I had microblading done on my brows, and am therefore not able to get them wet at all for the first 10 days, so I particularly needed the shampoo. I noted when I made the appt. that I needed someone who would be extremely careful not to get my brows wet, and who would be careful when drying. Shontanice did an EXCELLENT job, and I couldn’t be happier! I will return when I am seeking a blowout in the future. An added benefit is that she did such a great job that I haven’t had to style my hair yet – just brush and go, since the volume and style is lasting great. (This was done on Friday, and today is Sunday.) So getting the blowout saves a lot of time for several days following the appointment. I expect that with a little dry shampoo, my style will last a couple more days. Thank you!Service: HairstylingI had an excellent experience at DreamDry – Lincoln Park! I love my weekly visit to this salon! Daria the GM is fantastic. The salon is clean and well put together. The staff is friendly and talented! I have a hectic schedule as a business owner so sometimes I see different stylists. Hilary, Charlie, Danielle, & Effie are fabulous and who do my hair regularly. I love them all! But honestly anyone who works there has to be a great stylist. I used to do hair professionally- now I own a permanent makeup business so I’m pretty picky when it comes to other people doing my hair, or anything that has to do with my appearance for that matter. It’s fair to say that I have high standards and Dream Dry meets them every time! I have long, thick, wavy hair. Other places have left my hair frizzy or flat for almost double the price that Dream Dry charges. The stylists at Dream Dry do a great job! This is the place to go!

I’ve been coming here for a few years now and it’s always been great. Laura is amazing and a delight to talk to while she styles my hair. Unlike another blow out bar in Lincoln Park I have visited I have never waited more than a few minutes here. They often have good specials and packages on the blowouts and products, which is great. Sometimes parking can be a little tricky in the area, but it’s steps away from the Armitage train stop.

Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, ValueWhen I have gone to Drybar and other blowdry bars in the past, I’ve always kind of felt like I left looking like a dork. I’m always surprised in a bad way. My hair is always too much – too curly, too much product – I look like a bridesmaid basically every time and have to go home and fix it.I don’t know how they do it, but my hair looks incredible every time I visit DreamDry. They ask a lot of questions at the start – if you ask for straight and sleek, they ask what kind of silhouette (do you want it flipped out a bit, flipped under a bit or straight-straight?). I think a huge part of it is they have seasoned stylists who know how to make you actually look good, as opposed to just-out-of-beauty-school stylists who follow a one-size-fits-all protocol. They never overdo it, and I am always surprised in a good way at how I look. They use the best Oribe products and the space is chill. I definitely recommend – I visit all the time! When I have gone to Drybar and other blowdry bars in the past, I’ve always kind of felt like I left looking like a dork. My stylist was 35 minutes late. THIRTY FIVE. Ten minutes is unprofessional. Thirty five is unheard of. My appointment was for 10 am. At 10:10, the only other stylist that was in the salon with another client said that my stylist was running 10 minutes late. At 10:20, he said she would be there in 15 minutes and apologized. I said I was just going to leave and do my own hair for my bridal shower. He assured me I would be done by 11:00 and if she didn’t show in the next 15 minutes, that he would do my hair. At 10:35, she walks in the door. Doesn’t apologize, just starts on my hair. Her 10:45 client showed up on time for her appointment and wasn’t seen until I was done at 11:15. When I was done, I was asked if I wanted to tip on the card. I didn’t have it in my heart to leave without tipping, so I tipped. I was truly expecting for it to be comped. I made this appointment to treat myself to some pampering and the luxury of not having to worry about my hair on the day of my bridal shower, but instead I got intense stress, followed by throwing on my makeup and running out the door. There are PLENTY of other blow out salons in Chicago that would hold their employees to a higher level of professionalism than this.

The negative reviews are people who must of had a bad day and decided to take it out on dream dry. Or they didn’t have Rafael or Shontanice do their hair. Because there is no way you can come here, get your hair done by them and have a bad experience. Rafael is incredible. My hair always looks Pinterest worthy. I am a huge skeptic and always read all the bad reviews of a place to see what’s wrong with it, but genuinely theres nothing wrong with Rafael. Absolute dream.

Stunning salon in the Lincoln Park neighborhood. The stylists are super friendly and I was in and out in no time. The salon is not a store front design so you can’t see inside from the outside. The staff was all female at the time of my visit which is a plus for me as I am Muslim so I only go to ladies only salons. When you visit ask for Angela she’s a wonderful stylist I have never been so satisfied with a style from the salon! Sorry no pics for obvious reasons lol.
