I get my hair cut and lightened by Michellene, and she’s wonderful. I can vouch for her skill with shears, razor cutting, highlights, and freehand balayage. She’s also a wizard at combining toners to make the highlights flattering to the skin tone. An artist! The space is really cute too, and there’s onsite parking, a luxury for downtown Nevada City.

So I have waited a while before writing this review because I seriously was so upset by what happened to me. I also feel like this was partly my fault for not speaking up when things felt wrong. So I usually go to an amazing hairdresser Who has been practicing her craft for over 20 years and owns an upscale salon in Nevada City. Last spring I decided it would be fun to do some peekaboo colors for the summer maybe teal and purple. So I attempted to get in with my normal girl and she was booked out for a month, so I got impatient and walked into this salon to talk to them about what I wanted and how much it would cost. The lady at the desk was nice and personable making me feel at ease . She assured me it was doable and couldn’t give me a price. So I made an appointment with Bradley. I showed up and told him I wanted a couple colors and for it to not be crazy because I need to maintain my professionalism. I said so teal and purple and he waved it away and stated, “you don’t need another color it will just make it expensive.” This is when I should have left but didn’t. He proceeded to put teal on my whole back portion of my head and a giant chunk on the top of the hair on either side of my head. I was in shock! Trying not to cry When I went to pay he charged me $265!!!!!! Since then I have talked to others to find out he has been a hair dresser for only a few years. He blew me off when I called him to fix it. It’s been months and many hair appointments to fix the disaster he created. I was bullied and taken advantage of by him and he didn’t listen to anything I said.

Got a cut and it looks good! Bradley was professional and gave me a call back (after I left a voicemail), and promptly got me in the chair for a trim. He’s a wonderful guy, and now I look good.
