The service was fine but the hairdresser chopped my hair off pretty badly. I asked for some hair to be shorter at the front to frame my face and then have some layers to blend with the rest, and I have a big chunk of hair now cut short at one side of my face. Definitely not the result I wanted, it looks chunky and is hard to style, plus I think the frames on each side of my face are cut at different width.

Unprofessional from the front desk to the stylist. The haircut itself was atrocious. Missed chunks of hair with the clippers, and nicked a bald spot in the back of my son’s head. Then didn’t give him a mirror to look at the back (of course they didn’t). We ended up having to go elsewhere to salvage what was left.

i have visited this salon sporadically over the years, mostly for maintenance purposes–trims, shampoos, etc. The staff is professional, friendly and efficient and I’m always pleased with the results. They relocated across the street several years ago and the space is much more comfortable. I am a local business owner so I don’t have lots of free time. Efficiency is important to me. And best of all, their pricing is reasonable, which for Madison is saying something. Money well spent.

I have been a customer of Downtown Salon for a little over a year now. After trying numerous salons in my area and not being too happy with the results, I asked for a recommendation from a friend who always has wonderful looking hair. She suggested Downtown Salon and Tom the stylist. The Salon is a bit out of my way, I’m from Randolph, but traveling a little is well worth the trip. I am extremely happy with my hair each time. I usually have my hair dyed, hi-lighted and cut. In addition, the people who work at Downtown, are all friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend giving this gem a try.
