After trying every barbershop in the north side and never being impressed I found this place. I’ve been coming here for 6 years now and never looked back. You can’t beat the history and classic atmosphere of the hotel and the shop and it’s hard to beat the price for a premium cut. Michelle and Lee run a great shop

This is a throwback old school Barbershop. Lee, Manny and Michelle are really quality barbers & fun to be around. Not to mention it’s a full service shop cuts, shaves & shoe shining. The shop is located in the basement of the historic Sheraton Gunter hotel which adds a certain ambience. My dad was here recently visiting and he needed a cut so I got him an appt with Lee and as we were leaving the shop he said I understand why you like coming here. I would highly recommend this place to anyone and I have.

Unprofessional. I made an appointment, turned up before time. She said she is running late and will need 30 mins. I waited for over an hour and after which she very casually mentioned that “I thought I said no for the wait!” Well I sat outside for an hour and if she did not have time should have just asked me to go to another place. Don’t waste time booking an appointment here

Best shave I’ve ever had. Manny did a fantastic job. It was well worth every penny. Walk-ins are welcome and everyone was super friendly. Definitely will be going back for all my barber needs.

Barely needed to say what kind of cut I wanted, Lee trimmed me up, and cleaned my beard up without extra charge. Great conversation and very friendly environment. Make sure you walk into the hotel and if you miss the sign like I did, the person at the front desk will point you in the right direction.

I was disappointed to have schlepped across town from my hotel, on the basis of excellent reviews, only to find the lights on but nobody home. The place is buried in the basement of the very nice Gunter Hotel. On my arrival the lights were on, the TV going, but the doors locked and nobody there. It’s 10 am on a Monday. I called twice, phone rang and rang (I could hear it through the door). Must have gone to the bathroom, I thought. Took a seat in the lobby, read the interesting history of the place, and after about 20 minutes the barber showed up with takeaway food clamshell in hand. Okay, I thought, let’s go. Nope, “I can’t help you now, come back this afternoon. I got a guy in a wheelchair coming”. Nobody in sight. No offer to see me when done with other invisible client. “C’mon, I came all the way from Alaska to get a haircut with you”. No deal. Kinda lame I’d
