I booked an appointment through class pass, which is a memebership that uses credit on your account to access yoga classes aswell as services like hairdressing or manicure.

I started with a consultation because I wasn’t sure what I wanted to get done. I haven’t changed my hair in 10 years and MacKenzie was amazing! She knew exactly what I wanted and got me in the next day. Very personable and talked me through the whole process. Will definitely be coming back and asking for MacKenzie!! Haircut, Curly hair

Stephanie does an amazing job on my hair while also really helping me to better learn how to keep up the style on my end, and is delightful to talk with during my appointment.

Overall meh. Went in the Friday the 12th, While in store the experience was really nice and I enjoyed it, but when I got home and could really look at it, I was disappointed. I asked for a color match to my roots, because I was tired of blonde and wanted to go back to my natural color, with some dimension so my hair wouldn’t end up one flat color. Ended up getting a darker color than roots(told it was a Demi permanent and it would lighten a little bit after about 12 washes. which is okay I guess, but not necessarily what I wanted, and is something I should’ve been asked if I wanted beforehand, not told that’s what I got after.), and it does have dimension, but there are clear lines of where hair dye was/wasn’t applied on my roots, as well as quite a few chunks around my face not having any color either.. Then the haircut, I wanted lots of layers and I didn’t get that many, it subtle enough to where it almost looks like a blunt chop. I went home after and while I was looking at it my boyfriend asked me if my roots were supposed to be lighter than the rest! SO embarrassing to pay for a professional service and immediately have people point out problems with it. photos attached.

Absolutely love Douglas J Salon! I dont trust my hair with just anyone, and Stephanie E. is phenomenal. She takes the style I want, and is a great collaborator, which makes the end result even better. Love my new cut!! Thank you so much!! Haircut

My experience there is absolutely horrible. My haircut was with a senior hair stylist with a lot of experience. I have shown her several photos of the haircut I want. Instead of telling me that she doesn’t know how to do it, she did it horribly and cut my hair way too much. It will take me months to grow my hair back to be able to get fixed. Absolutely horrifying experience. I wouldn’t recommend any professionals to get their haircut there unless you want to risk looking like a high-school student with hair mishap… She was not even apologetic… very unprofessional…

My Girlfriend went in to ask about and potentially buy some shampoo. She’s not necessarily the type to go into a salon/supply store but she was in the market and decided the best place to attempt to buy Aveda products might be the Douglas J salon.

I arrived at 12:30 for my 12:30 appointment and was told that the stylist was running 10 min late. 10 minutes later, same story. After waiting 20 minutes I was told that the appointment was actually at 1 pm. That was bs because the system had sent me an autogenerated confirmation email the day before stating that the appointment was at 12:30. I had booked it the day before and repeated the time back to the receptionist several times. Haircut was just ok. I asked if the stylist could put in some wave when she dried it but she said that she didn’t have TIME! Ha! Goodbye Douglas J. There are so many other salons out there!

She is a wonderful person as well. Lindsey is a great receptionist. Always friendly and helpful! Haircut, Hairstyling

MacKenzie is 10/10. The only reason I’m dropping a star is that they’re significantly more expensive than any other Aveda salon I’ve been to.
