I booked this salon for my wedding- for myself and my bridesmaids. In the past few months they called twice to let me know my stylist quit and reschedule my hair trial and wedding day hair with another stylist. Now today, just six weeks before my wedding, they call and say they’ve decided not to be open on Sundays anymore- so they won’t be doing my wedding. That’s it- no offer to help, no reimbursement, no referrals. This is clearly a poorly run business with terrible customer service, high staff turnover, and is extremely unreliable. I definitely advise any customers – especially any brides – to stay far away from this business.

I love the atmosphere of the Hawthorne location so much! Staff is super friendly, even at 9am. I went in for a haircut/color today and felt instantly transformed. Kira is so amazing! I can easily talk to her about my hair goals and she perfectly matches my “hair mood”. When it comes to the cut, I let her decide the best cut as she is my “Hair Doctor” and I love the results every time. Lori T is so great! I got my hair done for my birthday (June 17th) one because I’m too lazy to do anything on my birthday and two I needed a hair cut and I didn’t like my hair color anymore. I drove all the way to Portland from The Dalles because Aveda is the only salon my OB-GYN approved me of going to get my hair dyed while pregnant. The day after I realized there was a spot the color didn’t get to so I had to come back and Aveda made it happen for me and Lori fixed the spot and some. I’m grateful for that because I definitely didn’t want to give birth with a spot missing lol Lori is very genuine and it’s so hard to find people like that nowadays.

I have gone to this salon for many years since my daughter moved to Portland and never had a negative experience- until today. My daughter scheduled an appointment for a perm , with my favorite stylist Philip who is OUTSTANDING, for two days after my arrival. The day I arrived I was informed I would need to have my hair analyzed prior to treatment and was given a specific time to come in and do that. Unfortunately, I am reliant on my daughter for transportation and could not make it. When I called to speak with the receptionist she was EXCEPTIONALLY rude and ultimately hung up on me prior to me being able to reschedule. I will NEVER AGAIN use this salon, and neither will my daughter. I hope the powers that be listen to the conversation (which supposedly was recorded) and do some retraining with this receptionist. No client should EVER be hung up on…

I was a Dosha customer a few years ago, took a break for a bit, and came back almost a year and a half ago. So glad I did! Kira Goddard is FANTASTIC!!!!! She takes the time to really listen and is a very intuitive stylist. She makes the process seem effortless and I am ALWAYS happy with the finished product, her color skills are top notch. Kira is professional, a bit of a perfectionist with the details (which I appreciate!!!), and also kind and caring. I get my hair done every 6 weeks or so, so it’s important to me to find a stylist that excels. Kira does just that, I would highly recommend her to anyone.
