Here’s the thing. I learned more the day Doris saw me as a walk-in about what it means to be kind and concerned about doing your job with professionalism. Doris has been cutting Ladies hair for over 42 years. She knows a thing or two about teasing hair, come outs, hair color, elderly clients, frail clients, and of course hair spray. If my Mom were still alive she would be thrilled with Doris’ talents and skills and calm quiet caring personality. I enjoyed my experience immensely just for the experience of being in a beauty shop with elder clients and a unique hair stylist. Doris is a treasure.

Over a couple weeks, I couldn’t find an open barbershop for myself. Still searching here in town one day, I found Doris open. She was already taking care of a lady, but made time for me afterwards. A good haircut without any problems. Other places are open now, but I’ve kept getting haircuts here. Both ladies at home began coming to Doris, and they’ve been happy too. I found Doris’ Hair Salon here in La Grange as the virus lockdown ended. Myself and two ladies all needed our hair taken care of. Over a couple weeks, I couldn’t find an open barbershop for myself.
