I am an out of state college student. I did not know where to go so I checked groupon. I heard decent reviews about this place and the cost was cheap. My experience was awful. I had Courtney. The first thing she said to me, “Are you here for a shampoo?” Then she rapidly pushed her fingers through my hair like she was in a great hurry. The “deep conditioning” treatment that came with my groupon was nonexistent as my shampoo job took two minutes. She then left to order Chinese food, complaining that she was “f***ing hungry” as I sat with dripping wet hair. She then dug through my hair with a comb with a mouth full of food. She caught the comb on my earrings more than once and said she keeps forgetting, that she always forgets about her clients earrings. There was no small talk. Then as she was about to cut the hair (not asking what I was looking for), I stopped her, scared, and said I have a picture. She then complained about a small snarl in my very very long hair. She abruptly asked what shampoo I use. After answering with Pantene or Aveda, she interrupted me saying “Those are what damaged your hair. Use Dove.” After forgetting about me for 1 hr under the head dryer, so long that the hair dryer turned off for a long time, Courtney brought me back to the chair (yes with Chinese food stuffed in her face-the chewing and scent was off putting), and cut my hair. Thank god my hair looked okay. But my experience was like I was just another hair cut, like a cow on an assembly line ready for slaughter. At the end of the appointment, she finally asked for my name so I could pay her. She never complimented me on my new short hair. I wanted to cry afterwards. What happened to the experience, the artistry, simple human kindness? I hope this is a wake up call for Courtney. I would rather fly back home to my salon, pay the $150, and have an incredible treatment than what she gave me.
