I went in asking to simply color my gray roots matching the rest of my hair and an inch trim. The first attempt at color resulted in my hair being black. Johnny Depp had lighter hair in Pirates of the Caribbean. After using the some color lifter hair magic voodoo stuff, the color was better but still three shades darker than I was expecting. I felt like I’d blend right in with the fortune telling community. After returning to the seat, I was swiveled AWAY FROM THE MIRROR. Guys, this is where nothing good ever happens at a salon. I kept trying to angle my way back to the mirror but my stylist insisted she needed to stand on her foot mat. I asked for an inch. At least two inches later, I finally saw myself in the mirror with very short, very dark hair. And she kept cutting insisting that these finishing touches would pull it all together. It didn’t. I’m seeing if I can get in to another salon to even it out because it’s longer on the right than the left.
