OK, I am not one to complain but I am very disappointed with the cut that I paid $70 for at Detour Salon. While I was at the salon, I had a fantastic experience. I loved the vibe, and my stylist Kyla. She was very friendly, and her and I hit it off. She cut my hair the length that I had asked, and then styled it and put a curl in it. I think because of the curl I could not see the drastic cut that she made in front of my face. I have very straight hair, and I do not curl it often, so when I showered and dried my hair the next day I saw this huge chunk that had been cut right in front of my face. I am tempted to wait until I go back home to see my stylist in Florida to fix it, but the idea of walking around with this cut for the next two months is mortifying. I guess my only option is to go to another salon and have someone fix it for another $50-$70. Like I said, I am not one to complain. Even if the cut wasn’t that sophisticated I would have lived with it and not said a word. But this cut in front of my face where she took a chunk out with no angle is just insane! It looks terrible no matter how I do my hair, and the idea that I paid so much money for it is very upsetting. And I tipped her $20! Kyla is a very sweet girl, and it is not a personal complaint, but I don’t know what she was thinking when she added this “face framing”.

I would recommend this salon highly. Everyone is very professional and attentive to your hair needs and it’s a fun great atmosphere. My stylist is Aliza and she is just outstanding. I have had my hair down in LA, New York, Nashville , Atlanta , DC, Miami and Seattle by some great stylists and Aliza is right up there with the very very best. I highly recommend her for all services. She works with an assistant and they are an amazing team for cut, color and extensions.Never rushed! Furthermore , the front desk receptionists work with you to connect you with the best stylists when you first call the place. They ask several questions regarding your hair needs putting you at ease. Amanda was so kind to me and carefully listened to the type of person I needed. Thank you!! And truly it is a fun place with great teas to enjoy.

Horrible experience with Angie! Super rude and unprofessional. She texts rude texts and then blames you for not talking with her. I would never purchase extensions sight unseen..so she can then blame you for wasting her time. Never met someone so angry. No thanks! To treat a client like that..will never go back! Horrible!

Love going to Detour Salon. Over the past few years, I’ve had a few different stylists but have never been disappointed. With price points to accommodate all clients, Detour has been able to cut my hair without completely emptying my wallet in the process. I have been going to Detour for at least 10 years…never before have I stuck with one hairdresser. Kirk is my stylist and he listens, he’s creative according to my hair type, and my own ability to care for any given style. He makes suggestions and he’s also very honest as to what will or won’t work for me. The stylists there are all amazing and I have recommended this salon to many friends…Enjoy!
