WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!!! I travel for work. Most of which is last minute. I came in before the first on the month to cancel, as I will be out for awhile, sand get well you can cancel, but you still have to pay a fee to freeze your account. Although it is a minuscule amount the fact that you can not cancel prior to your draft is crazy. They ask for your fingerprint, ss#, phone, address, name, a copy of you driver license???? Crazy all your information just to tan???? WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. Just sayin…..

I’ve laid here at this salon for many, many years. In fact it is the only tanning salon I have ever used for the last 5 plus years. I have always recommended this place anytime others asked about my tan. However, I can no longer recommend them after being ripped off twice. I will say the first time they corrected the problem, but refused to do so the second time. And that was the last time I have visited the place and also the last time I will ever use this salon. Long story short, I am all for hiring teenagers who are in school because they need to learn how life is in the workplace and it helps them to become somewhat responsible and independent. But as a result, I have lost money due to errors made by the young new hires at this salon. In their paperwork, which you NEVER get a copy of when you begin your membership, it states that you must freeze your account before the end of the current month so that you are not charged a new full monthly charge. With that said, I ALWAYS do that whenever I initially sign up so that I DO NOT forget to do so the end of the month. I also do the same if I renew for the next month. When you freeze the account, it leaves the contract open and only charges you $5 per month which you get back in “Bonus Bucks” to use towards products when you restart your contract. So, I froze my account in July the day that I renewed the last month I planned on tanning for this year because I ONLY tan 1-3 months tops, a year normally. So when my contract was up, I didn’t go back. In October (when there business drops off and they don’t have as much revenue coming in) I got hit with a $89.99 charge for a new month. When I called to ask what was going on, they tell me I did not freeze my account, and unless I had a receipt showing proof that I did, then the charge would stick. They went on to tell me they had been trying to charge my card monthly since August and the charges were declined. Let me also say, I had NO charges or attempted charges since the last time I paid for the month in July. When I told them I didn’t have a receipt because I NEVER receive a written receipt stating I froze my account or basically a receipt for anything I have ever purchased at the salon, they said they wouldn’t be able to credit me back. So they took the money. I wrote the owner a letter explaining my disappointment about how this was handled and I hand delivered it and dropped it off at the salon to be given to the owner because he was not there when I took it. In the letter I asked for a final receipt for the last month they charged me (in error) so that I had something for proof showing in case this happened down the road since they keep your credit card on file, and here we are in December almost, and I still have not received anything in writing or a receipt for final payment. Just like you never receive one when you start a contract or freeze an account. So I will NEVER give this place my money again. There are too many other places who would appreciate a loyal customer like myself who I am sure would not rip me off like Designer Tan has done.

I love every single location of designer tan the owners are amazing and so helpful and knowledgeable about all the products that they sell and all the services that they offer I definitely would never go to a different tanning salon;; this is it for me. And at every single location everyone that works there is extremely nice and extremely helpful and knowledgeable as well. Plus it’s super convenient that they have so many locations in different cities because I travel between cities a lot so I know that I will always be able to go get my tan on no matter where I’m at so I definitely love that as well.

I have been here a couple times for a spray tan and they have gone fine, but this past time was the worst spray tan experience I have ever had. I never leave bad reviews, so I don’t take this lightly. I walked in for a spray tan and the girl working the counter took 3 people before because she needed to set up the booth for the spray tan (okay, that’s fine but 10 mins into waiting and with other people working there? still it’s cool I’m not that bothered about it). She finally gets me set up and hit the button on the wall to start my tan and the product just shoots right out at me pretty hard and only on my stomach splattering so I get out and hit the stop button. I can’t open the door because the handle on the inside is broken my hands are covered in slick spray tan from shielding my face, and there are no towels in the room. so I just knock on the door until the girl hears and opens it. I explain what happened she said she’d fix the machine and start over. I told her I was concerned about being splotchy and maybe should just go. She insisted I wouldn’t be. I waited another 20 mins for her to fix the machine…she said to knock when I was done and she’d open the door. I knocked for about 2 mins and no one came to the door. I sliced my pinky open on the broken metal door handle trying to open it. She said she was sorry she was on the phone and didn’t hear me knock. Overall the girl was really sweet but I ended up splotchy on my face (which is super embarrassing), with a bleeding pinky, and spent an hour of my day getting a spray tan. Mistakes happen but there is no excuse for failing to make your business safe (door handle) and any reason why a spray tan should take an hour+. The only reason this isn’t getting one star is because the girl was extremely nice about the whole situation.
