Critical: ProfessionalismWithin the last two weeks, I have visited Design Nails twice, and I was very displeased to say the least with the service I received. I normally don’t write reviews, but I felt like this one could help a girl like me, who just wanted a small pampering. Let me be clear when I say, they don’t care about giving you quality when you’re asking for the “basic” stuff, they only care about the clients that ask for things like acrylic, dip, gel, etc. I had the same woman each time I was there, both times she gave me “rushing” vibes. The first time I was in the salon, I was with my cousin who was receiving a full set for her birthday weekend from Bella (who does amazing work), and I received a pedicure. I don’t always feel the need to get my nails done, normally they chip quickly due to my occupation. The woman who did my feet not only seemed to be talking poorly about me (and the fact that I did not want a manicure as well), but she rushed through my entire process because I was one of her last clients of the day. She did an ‘ok’ job, but I have had better pedicures than what I received. Only two days ago I visited the salon again, this time for my birthday treat, and I wanted a simple manicure. She asked me if I was getting a “no chip”, and politely I responded “no thank you! My nails normally chip within two weeks anyways” and that was the last thing we said to each other, even during my service. My cousin and I called ahead, and our appointments were made a day prior. While this woman attended to my nails, a walk in showed up and asked for “dip” nails. They immediately said yes. The woman doing my nails started going far quicker than she was when the walk-in showed up. I assumed at that point, it was because she was going to be doing her dip set. She rushed through my simple basic manicure, roughly and quickly rubbed my hands, I even watched a bristle from the nail brush fall off onto my nail (which she literally just left there, I didn’t say anything because I didn’t feel like I should have had to say something, especially since she was trying to cover it up, rather than remove it) all because she had a client come in (that had zero appointment, in an already packed salon), and she was going to profit more off of her. I didn’t say anything as I left, but I will say now, my nails look terrible. Tomorrow is my birthday, and I’m having to have my nails completely redone because this woman did such a terrible job on a regular manicure. Lastly, I probably won’t be going back to this salon anytime soon, despite the rave that it gets. Mainly because, their work is phenomenal, but only on the people willing to pay a good penny. It’s very disheartening. I’d leave a one star review, or no stars, but I’m simply just not that mean. Rant over, but if you’re looking for somewhere to get your nails done to feel good, but it’s just something simple? Steer clear of here. They don’t care about all of their clients or business, only some.Services: Manicure, PedicureWithin the last two weeks, I have visited Design Nails twice, and I was very displeased to say the least with the service I received. I went here once before and had an okay experience so I made another appointment to go and I will never go back. There were completely rude as hell. I had a 12:30pm appointment and got there at 12:35pm they guy at the first desk was completely rude. I only ask “How long is the wait because I was going to take a call” and He started talking to me like I was a child. That will NEVER fly with me.

Awesome! I Love Andy’s work. He’s very patient and friendly. He makes sure his customer is happy before tgey leave. My nails look so beautiful when he’s done and they last until I see him again.

Critical: ProfessionalismAlright; I am going to start off with the good. Personally, I am a understanding and forgiving person. I am not hateful. I ALWAYS try to aim for the good in others. I am no nail guru, I don’t get them done often, but when I do want them done I usually go with my friend and it’s this business she goes to. This nail salon is VERY talented in their work, no matter which nail tech you are doing business with. They for the most part efficient and patient when doing nails. Although, out of the four or five times I’ve been there, I have always felt a sense of hatred from the employees. It feels like they don’t want me to be there and every time I open my mouth after replying to the nail tech, something is said in a different language that throws me off. By observing the technicians from eye contact to body language, it is obvious that they are being rude. A few days after I got my nails done recently, I accidentally chipped one of my nails which is obviously my fault, therefore, I was willing to pay for it. On the phone I was told that I wouldn’t be charged (of course i would tip) but once I got there I was charged three dollars (which is barely anything) and I tipped seven dollars because I felt awful about asking them to fix it. I don’t want to go in depth, because honestly it’s not that serious. I also would like to add that every time I leave I say “have a good day” or a “goodbye” and no one says anything back. It is very clear to me that I am not welcome there and that is okay. I want to get my nails done more often and for a second I was considering continuing going to design nails until I realized the awful feeling I get when I am there and when I leave . In the end, I simply would rather go somewhere where I feel welcomed and appreciated rather than intrusive and judged. I understand this place is talented but I think it’s very important to still have respect for your customers, no matter how their hands look, no matter how they want their nails to look and no matter what their races .I plan be coming one last time to get a nail fixed, again that I am willing to pay for, but this is the last time that I will be attending. Thank you for your business, stay healthy!Update: Almost two years later, I came back with the same friend talked about in this review. I was nervous with going back but I have heard about change in both the salon and the workers/owner. So, i wanted to see it out again. All in all my experience was very pleasant, as talented as they are I was not surprised on how my nails came out: they came out amazing. But, I was pleased to feel welcomed and cared for by the man doing my nails and the lady next to him. Everyone has bad days and it could have just been a bad one two years ago. I still don’t get my nails done often but I feel ready to return when I would like them done again 🙂 May you all have a beautiful experience as well and a good rest of your year!Alright; I am going to start off with the good. A friend who speaks the same language as the employees took my 10 year old for a back to school nail app. I paid $70 for tips, and design. Price isn’t the problem. I’ve been a loyal customer. But they trash talked my 10 year old for her chewed nails the entire appointment. She has anxiety and ADHD and is a kid! Trash talking your paying customers especially kids is ridiculous.

Was client for over one year for both dipped nails and pedicures. The owner, Jason, always was responsible for my nails. On one occasion, he left the salon without finishing my nails and his very lovely wife, Mia, finished for him. He began being very unfriendly and when he cut me twice while filing my nails said “Oh that was your fault” without even apologizing. I made an appointment for my nails and a pedicure. I spoke directly with him. My pedicure wasn’t done by the person who I always requested and when it was time for my nails, Jason directed me to Andy instead of himself. When I said that I personally made the appointment with him, his response was “Jason busy.” So, Andy, who is very accommodating and personable, dipped my nails, matched the pedicure color perfectly and my nails looked spectacular. It was a pleasure not to have to deal with Jason’s attitude. I told him that I would never return, and I never did but found someone more talented and decent. I now am receiving complaints from previous clients about how badly they were treated by him to the point of actually being hung up on. Never again!!!
