This 19th-century adobe on Calle de Guadalupe (across the street from the famous La Posta Restaurant and the beloved Fountain Theatre) was completely renovated in 2019 in a classic southern New Mexico style. First off, this is a beautiful location. People were walking around and taking pics of the place, which is what caught my attention. I wandered in (knowing that it was a “day spa”) so I fully expected to walk in to some froufrou place. It wasnt! It’s warm and has a southwestern sort of flair to it. The ladies working there were really nice, too. On a whim, I went ahead and decided to get a massage as it’s been a while since I’ve had one. The receptionist told me they use hot towels in every massage. I was (pleasantly) surprised when the girl applied them to my body during the session. It was comforting, in a different way. Overall, a quaint location for a great massage.

I had an absolutely wonderful experience when I visited Desert Botanicals Day Spa over the holidays. As soon as I walked through the historic wooden gates, I could see the fire burning in the large stone fireplace. The historic building had just been restored to its former glory, inside and out. I felt like I was stepping back in time. I recommend the hot stone massage to melt the holiday stresses away.
