I’m handicapped and have been seen by a DC dermatologist several times over the years with good results. Getting an appointment in a reasonable amount of time wasn’t difficult. That’s changed for the worse. Now, a person is lucky if they can get an appointment within 3 months. (It’s that bad.)

I sincerely don’t know where the 0 star ratings are coming from. A lot of other people are complaining about the wait time. You are seeing a specialist. This is not a primary care visit, where doctors have the luxury of a cushy schedule. This is a person who has studied a specific area of medicine for a very long time. I had no issues at all scheduling an appointment. I honestly did not even know the referral had been approved/put in until I received a detailed voicemail from Dermatology Consultants Woodbury explaining how to schedule an appointment, their phone number, and their hours. I got in really quickly. Again, these are specialists. I do see other specialists regularly, and it usually takes 2-3 months to get an appointment at other doctors’ offices. Dermatology Consultants happened to have just had a cancellation, and I was seen within a week of requesting an appointment. I saw Dr. Turnbull. I have seen other dermatologists in the past, and was told I would need to book an appointment for EACH separate issue. Not only did Dr. Turnbull listen to EACH AND EVERY concern I had, she took the time to explain the best treatment, including the expected outcomes and risks, and the approximate amount of time it would take to resolve. I had about three skin-related issues that I needed addressed, and she took care of all of them quickly and efficiently. Her nurse/assistant was also extremely nice, listened to my concerns, and generally made me feel at ease. I have definitely been “talked down to” in the past, but I felt like there were no stupid questions. I also ended up having additional questions after hours. I did call the after-hours phone number, and Dr. Turnbull herself called me back. I will never go to another dermatologist again. I have had severe skin issues (including pre-cancerous skin cells) since I was a child. I have never been happier or felt more comfortable with any other dermatologist. Frankly, that is saying a lot. Absolutely love this office.

2 of the last 4 visits I had to wait over 30 minutes and subsequently couldn’t be seen because I had other commitments and couldn’t wait any longer. Today was the second time. And not even an apology from the front desk when I inquired about the wait after 25 minutes or when I took my paperwork back up after 35 minutes and told them I couldn’t stay.

The staff is so messy. This is the third time where they cancel my appointment without telling me or let me know if I wanted to reschedule. I called up the place and the lady that answered seem to be so rude and dismissive of this issue. She rushed me to get me off the phone and wasn’t willing to hear out and explain what the issue was. Never returning to this messy uncooperative place and please get new staff!!

There should be an allowance for 0 stars. I would recommend DC if you want poor care, to be ignored when you call or have concerns, or to have your needs left unmet. Terrible, terrible experience and care. A physician orders wound care and 15-days later no supplies have been received because the clinic failed to follow-up on the supplies or the home care the phyisican ordered.

I would not recommend to anyone. Had a skin check done and had a growth that I wanted removed. Called over a year later for appointment and they wanted me to make another office visit first. $211 for the office visit. When I called to explain how felt the lady in billing by the name of Carrie hung up. What a joke. Taking my money to another dermatologist.
