First time visit to this dermatologist and the Newtown office. Plenty of parking. Signs easily direct you where to go. The office is spacious with very comfortable seating. I was in the waiting room for less than 2 minutes before I was called in.

Dr. Eickhorst was super knowledgeable and kind. She and her staff made me feel comfortable. I was greeted with a friendly and professional atmosphere. I waited about 35 minutes past my appointment time to be seen and that is the only reason they didn’t get 5 stars.

This practice is top notch. Dr. Zalka is excellent – she treats her patients with respect and kindness and takes the time to address any concerns and explain the diagnosis. Nurses and all staff are welcoming and friendly. Office is beautiful, clean and well maintained.

I was very nervous to go for a body check because I am a sun lover. But they were so welcoming and kind. They explained skin tone and all the types of freckles and spots that are hereditary. They made me feel comfortable.

Called to make a new patient appointment. 6 to 8 weeks out and I felt very rushed to give them all my information. They’re too busy for my liking. I found a better practice elsewhere.

Before I made my appointment, I mentioned to the assistant on the phone what I was scheduling the appointment for. I then noted in the client paperwork the same reason for my visit. Next I noted at the beginning of my appointment the reason for the appointment and what I was hoping to have done but that didn’t happen at all. After waiting for about 20 minutes, the appointment was quick, rushed, and only partially what I asked for. No one indicated that I couldn’t have this specific work done and gave me a basic skin screening. It was almost as if they didn’t want to take the time and I felt rushed to get out. It is very, very likely I will not return here again.

This derm office allows patients a bit of grace period if running late which was helpful as this office is pretty far and on a street with only 1 lane most of the route. The derm office is in the back of the building. This needs to be displayed at parking entrance and front of building with signage to notify patients. The front desk reception asked us if we had any symptoms of illness but one of the masked staff that led us to patient room was coughing (which was odd). We were also wearing a mask and social distancing so not overly concerned. Dr. Eikhorst reviewed our completed forms and reason for our visit. I informed her we were interested in non-invasive medical grade skincare that did not interfere with hormones (i.e. skincare, facials). After a semi-diagnosis, we were prescribed one OTC item and 2 other prescription items. We researched all of the prescriptions and two of three may cause allergic reactions, so we only purchased OTC. We requested information on facial services at end of appointment and may consider scheduling after our second visits. Had to return as one of our receipts were missing. Young lady at front desk (who appeared to be new) printed out copy for us.

My last visit with Dr. Zalka before her retirement. I have been a patient for 14 years and will miss her professionalism, caring, warmth, and brilliance. The nurses and front desk staff are wonderful!

I did have to wait about 20 minutes, but that is standard these days in doctors’ offices. Carmella was great, explained things well…her cohort was very good. Sorry I can’t recall her name. It’s a bit of a drive from Torrington, but well worth it.

The office staff was very helpful and professional. Dr Busch was very nice and informative. She explained to me, what the different spots and colors meant on my body. Reassured me all is good. Thank you
