Ok. I did read the reviews and just want to put it out there, my appointment was for 930 am this morning. I am in my car writing this, 1008am. My first appointment, 2 specimens taken and a extensive skin check done!!

Run as fast as you can from this office. They are concerned with one thing- getting you in and out as fast as possible. My child is literally disfigured- these were Dr. Mathieu’s exact words- because of their neglect and lack of communication. If I could go back in time, I would have never made a single appointment here. Anywhere else is better than this practice. Worst medical experience of our lives.

My first visit here was flawless – I had a 9am appointment and was back in my car by 9:30 after seeing Dr. Bogaert for a body check, as skin cancer runs in my family. She was kind and helpful and answered all my questions. I brought a book because I was prepared for a long wait after seeing reviews here, but I only had time to read about 2 pages!

Showed Dr. A lump. Said it was nothing. Let it go for a year. Showed it again. Said it was just a cyst. No worries. Let it go a couple more weeks until it started to hurt. Went back and told him to remove it. Turned out to be a rare and aggressive Cancer. I have had three surgeries, radiation therapy and immunotherapy in the last year as it spread to my lymphatic system. Now is stage 4. Have been given a 5% survival chance over next five years. I wish he would have removed the lump when I first showed it to him. Merkle Cell Carcinoma. Thankful for the excellent care at Shenandoah Oncology.

This office is the most disorganized mess. They are never able to perform any simple function, like calling in a prescription without a giant headache, involving the patient calling them repeatedly. There is no facet of healthcare where incompetence is an acceptable option. They are way overbooked, and I’ve had to wait over an hour past my appointment time, only to have to cancel. Front desk staff is extremely friendly and accommodating, however, that doesn’t count for much if your patients aren’t receiving an acceptable level of care. I’m not surprised to see low ratings on google.

Please hire more personable people to answer your phone. It’s a turn off to have someone who lacks even the basic interpersonal skills needed for this particular job especially in a professional setting when it comes to dealing with patients. Just a suggestion.

I went to Dermatology Associates in winter 2019 – early 2020, and was thrilled with the results. The care was very professional, and the follow up after my procedure was a nice touch. I recommended them to my cousin, and she also had great results last summer. The doctors are highly experienced, and they’re one of the most established practices in the Winchester area. Highly recommend.

I currently work for this office as a medical assistant with Dr. Mathieu and have been with the practice almost a year now. I have over 9 years of experience as a medical assistant with 8 years dedicated to dermatology. I can personally assure you that he as well as every other doctor in this practice are very dedicated to our patients, highly knowledgeable and skilled in what they all do. It saddens me to see and read such experiences others have had. I will say first and foremost that our wait time to see the doctor may be long on some days, but that is because WE ARE A SPECIALTY office. We never know what is going to come through our doors. Somethings that we do in the room with the patients are quick things while others may require more time. HOWEVER, I can promise that our doctors will be sure to spend just as much time and dedication to each patient we see. As far as having to pay for services, we fully explain to our patients that things that are considered to be cosmetic by insurance companies may require a patient to pay an out of pocket expense. We do try and bill insurances first but in some cases it is not deemed medically necessary and the patient may end up having to pay out of pocket. We also explain this and have patients sign waiver forms about this. A big thing I also read was about our phones and making appointments. We have changed phone systems and each doctor now has their own phone lines for patients to leave messages on. The nurses check the phone line throughout the day, hopefully helping to eliminate the wait times to be called back. I hope whoever reads this can get a better understanding from the other side of the “bad reviews ” and know that our office is striving to make changes for the better. I truly believe we have a great office, dedicated staff and doctors!

I’m surprised by some of the negative reviews. My experiences have been very positive. It IS a busy office, but I found the staff to be very competent & efficient.
