My primary care MD, Elizabeth Hoffman had wanted me to have “suspicious spots” checked for over a year. Took about 5 months to get on Dermatology Associates schedule……Brand new state of the art facility with a great vibe. Clean, bright, with big TV screens presenting important info…Staff also has friendly, professional vibe.

Dr Beth found a cancerous melanoma spot on my nose, she thoroughly explained to me what to expect during the surgery. I want to thank her for helping me get through this.

I have to say that the office at Dermatology Associates was extremely rude and unprofessional. If they don’t want to work with your insurance company to cover the expense of the visit, Andrea just tells you that we have bad insurance. She was very rude and condescending to us as clients and refused to work with us and our insurance provider. We actually have the best insurance coverage in all aspects that we have ever had. My wife and I will never return to this facility because of the actions of the office.

Amazing customer service. I had a spot looked at in the Sylvania office and when I realized I would need a different provider in network to do the procedure, Beth spent a ton of time explaining things, gave me a referral for a different provider and walked me through everything! I’m not sure if I was rerouted to Perrysburg on the phone or still in Sylvania but Thank you Beth! Exceptional service!

The staff was nice however I had a huge issue with a medication they put my on to help treat some irritation around my nose. I had seen them several times concerning the issue and it was getting worse however is was never resolved keeping me on the medication cause they thought that it would help me & thinking it was a different topical medication.I went in specifying that my skin is very sensitive and that I already had very dry skin Issues in the past. It ended up being a full body drug reaction to an oral Doxycyline that they never caught and I had to spend over $300 between their office and other derms figuring out the issue. I had even drove to their other office in Perrysburg because I was so uncomfortable and wanted to be seen & I was treated like it was my fault & that I was a burden to be seen. I had to spend my entire wedding planning with my self confidence at al all time low because my skin was completing shedding its self and red and hurt. It’s been over a year I’ve seen this office and my skin is finally to a point where I can at least go out in public without people thinking I was a burn victim. I’m writing this review out of the fact I’m hoping they can learn from this to treat others that may be facing the same issue.

Front desk people are unhelpful and unfriendly. I read another review that mentioned that the front desk people treat you like an “inconvenience.” This is spot on. I had a poison ivy rash over half of my body and the doc prescribed me a tiny tube of steroids that ran out after only a few days. I was absolutely miserable. I called at 9am and explained my circumstance and asked for help getting another prescription called in asap. I never heard back so I called again at 2pm to get an update. The woman I spoke to previously said she had “no clue” what the status of my prescription was. I asked her to please check for me and she acted put out and inconvenienced. I asked her to let me speak to her manager. After being on hold for several minutes, Peg answered the phone and was immediately defensive and rude. I told her my situation and she offered no help, only explaining that I’ll have to wait until the doc has time. So after several minutes of back and forth, I hung up on her. I’ve been to both of their offices several times and there was never more than a few people in the waiting room. Each time I was there, I’ve seen their front desk people on their mobile phones texting and on social media. One time when I was was waiting to check out, one of the receptionists was playing on her mobile phone and didn’t see me standing right there in front of her. After a couple minutes, my doc saw what was going on and brought it to her attention that she needed to check me out. Long story short, I went to the Little Clinic at Kroger in Holland and within 1 hour I had a new prescription and the medication I needed in hand. Everyone I dealt with there was extremely friendly and helpful. Ironically, while I was at Kroger, Peg called me back with an update on my medication. I told her I no longer needed her help and hung up. The docs were nice and helpful, but there needs to be some major changes with the front desk people. I’ll be finding another dermatologist because of them.

We saw Mimi the PA for my daughters warts. We’ve been battling almost 20 of them all over her hands for years. No one seemed to think it was a big deal and we had seen many other dermatologist. Mimi was aggressive in her treatment plan and I’m happy to say my daughter is just about wart free. Thank you all for all you do. Very professional and very thorough. We will continue to use them as our go to dermatologist.

I randomly went in for a full body check because I ran into someone who encouraged me to do so…and I was having some hormonal acne post-pregnancy. Dr. Thaler caught a precancerous growth on my back that I had never noticed. She was professional, fast, and thorough, as well as easy to talk to, and I will be going in regularly to get checked as this finding now puts me at higher risk. I would like to add it was in a spot that did not see the sun–ever–so it’s most likely genetic. On top of that, she gave me a topical prescription that is helping with my hormonal acne! EVERYONE should go to see his/her dermatologist, and I definitely recommend Dr. Thaler.
