Because of the despotic regulations set in place by the dictatorial governor of Pennsylvania, comrade Wolfe, I had to make the Trek from the Pittsburgh Pennsylvania region to Wheeling West Virginia to get my haircut. And a woman named Cheryl was my barber. And besides being a very nice lady she did an excellent job cutting my hair. If it didn’t take me an hour and 20 minutes to drive there she would be my regular Barber. Good job Cheryl and thank you very much.

This is SO long overdue (as well as my first Google review as I’ve never felt this much of a need to write a review until now) but this is THE PLACE TO GO if you want your hair cut right. I’m from Southern California and always have a knot in my stomach when I get my hair cut in the valley because I’ve never been satisfied until I came here. Sharon cut my hair and still took me even when I was 15 minutes late due to the horrendous traffic crossing the island that day and I will admit I was a bit nervous as it looked like a place that catered to little old ladies (nothing wrong with that I was just wanting a modern haircut [mid fade]). I also have bad social anxiety so bad that I usually wait until my hair is long enough to be in my eyes to get it cut (as was the case that day). However, Sharon greeted me with a warm smile and we chatted like we had known each other for years. Her daughter was also there (not sure if she also cuts hair but if so she’s just as kind and welcoming as her mother) and around my age and would pop into the conversation here and there and it was SUCH a relaxing atmosphere that the bits of silence didn’t even feel awkward. All that being said, I was still nervous that I was gonna end up just telling her to buzz it all off since my haircut was a modern one and due to my cowlick(s) I’m always very specific on parts that need to be shorter than others like my crown area and am very picky with how it spikes up in the front. My side burns are also always a HUGE thing with me and need to be cut at the perfect angle or it can ruin the whole cut in my eyes. Some stylists will even act annoyed with how detailed I am (which adds to the anxiety!), as if I don’t trust them to cut my hair right. However, Sharon never once hinted on the annoying side and when she handed the mirror to check out the back and let me get close up to the big mirror to check things out, I felt the familiar dread as I’ve almost always been dissatisfied with what I want and have never been happy with any cut I’ve gotten in the valley. However this feeling literally vanished the minute I took a close look and was replaced with shock. This woman had cut my hair PERFECTLY. I have only been this happy with a haircut once before in my entire life and it was also the most expensive I’ve ever gotten. But Sharon has an amazing rate (which I feel is inappropriate to write here as this isn’t my business so I feel I have no right to disclose her rates) and demeanor that makes you feel welcome and the skills to make you leave with a smile on your face. I have been complimented on it even my strangers and I always recommend them to Del Haven. Don’t go anywhere else. Sharon has the best skills and enjoys what she does, showing it in the way she treats customers and doesn’t give you the opposite of what you want due to them thinking it’ll look bad. I could go on forever..but the bottom line is choose this barber shop. You won’t be disappointed.
