A great, old style barber shop complete with 1957 barber chairs. A very good haircut with fine conversation. They don’t take appointments, so no hassle there, just walk in. Usually not much of a wait, if any, but if there is it isn’t a bad place to hang out. Skilled barbers you can have confidence in. UPDATE:Added Aug 26: Recently moved to old train station in downtown Champaign. Same great service. Sadly the 1957 chairs don’t fit. Now take appointments.

I ask for the same haircut each time and feel like it looks different each time, but overall I like my hair cut. Very social guys that keep a good atmosphere plus they vacuum your hair at the end so you don’t have it all fall down your shirt!

I have had my hair cut at this establishment my entire life with the exception of 2 times and regret nothing but those 2 times I didn’t go to Dave & Gene. Dave & Gene are super friendly and do a great job. Be specific with what you want, they can do it. Line can get long, try not to go towards closing (although they will keep cutting after-hours as long as you get in line beforehand). Military discount.

Great Barber shop! Hair cut was perfect, barber enjoyed talking about movies and Star Wars. There was a wait but they have a pool table you can play on while you wait, a TV on with whatever game is on and tons of Garfield comics. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a haircut in the Urbana-Champaign area.

The nicest people you will ever meet. They are great at making conversation. Make sure to make an appointment beforehand, they do accept walk-ins, but it makes it easier if you make an appointment.
