Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, ValueThe first thing I did when I moved to Portland was to find a cosmetologist that could do great color and cut. NOT all blondes are created equally and Dathan is spot on to what I wanted! I feel like I have a high expectation because my sister is a cosmetologist and had always done my hair back home and I also worked in a salon for several years. As you can see in the picture I posted, he has taken the time and effort to continue education to perfect his craft/skill. That meant something to me, because I wanted someone that had passion for his craft. I am always happy with my hair afterwards and, honestly, I really enjoy the conversations we have. He has a small salon, (easy to find parking) VERY COVID FRIENDLY. Just the two of us in there. No one is booked into my time slot and I have caught him every time, cleaning/disinfecting between clients. Mask are worn the whole time. The first thing I did when I moved to Portland was to find a cosmetologist that could do great color and cut. NOT all blondes are created equally and Dathan is spot on to what I wanted! I feel like I have a high expectation because my sister is a cosmetologist and had always done my hair back home and I also worked in a salon for several years. I have had so many people compliment my hair cut and color since seeing Dathan…some have asked for his number! Dathan is highly responsive when trying to schedule an appointment. He is flexible and even squeezed me in for a bang cut! I have had so many people compliment my hair cut and color since seeing Dathan…some have asked for his number! (I have to admit while I want to share his amazing talent with the world, I also want to keep him to myself!) Beyond happy that I found Dathan!

My hair looked like hot garbage before I went in, but I came out with the most beautiful, complimentary color for my skin tone. Went over options to see what hair color would best suit my skin color/personality/style, but also maintain the integrity of it, which was something I was sorely lacking at the other salon. Literally the best experience ever; Dathan transformed my hair after being left unsatisfied from a previous stylist in Bar Harbor (absolutely worth the three hour drive). My hair looked like hot garbage before I went in, but I came out with the most beautiful, complimentary color for my skin tone. Went over options to see what hair color would best suit my skin color/personality/style, but also maintain the integrity of it, which was something I was sorely lacking at the other salon. He was able to work wonders, and was able to make the most of the cut and my hair type. I can’t thank him enough! From cutting it all off for a short pixie to now being in the process of letting that style grow out (and actually liking the process)! They are the BEST haircuts I’ve ever had and as I grow out the length, I am also in love with his choice of color.
