I cannot say enough great things about this salon!!! I should have written this review a long time ago, as I have been a client for a couple of years now and have seen pretty much every stylist they have on staff, as well as Dan. I have never, ever, ever been anything less than thrilled with my hair after an appointment at this salon. A special mention for my girl Celeste who is brilliant at color. I honestly trust booking color or cut with anyone here, because Dan is AMAZING….. and he has set a very high bar for hiring new team members. But today was the first time that I ever forgot that I had an appointment! I realized it an hour past the appointment time….. raced there as fast as I could just to be able to apologize in person…. and not only did Dan and Serena (who I was scheduled with) welcome me with smiles and laughter and told me not to worry…. they both insisted that I stay to get my haircut once Serena was done with her current client. She stayed late on a Friday and didn’t charge a cent extra or make me feel the slightest bit guilty about my mistake. So not only is everyone here incredibly talented, but they are exceptionally nice and friendly. Everyone here is someone that I would actually love to be friends with outside of the salon. I have been in New York for 20 years….. have been through a million salons….. and will never ever go anywhere other than Danka Panka.

I’ve been to Danka Panka twice now. Dan is absolutely wonderful! I’ve been searching for a hairdresser in NYC for years…one who I’m happy to visit again and again. He took so much time with me, meticulously cutting, explaining how to get what I wanted out of my hair, and I ended up with a cut I love – one that’s low maintenance and looks fab ;). He’s also just a fun person to chat with and I enjoyed the whole experience. Finally found my spot!!

Dan is amazing!! I got the best haircut ever. Not only that but Dan explains the whole process and gives you tips on how to style your hair. I can’t believe I waited so long to chop off my long hair and get this new stunning look! I’m referring everyone to him and definately coming back! I can’t thank you enough. Dan is by far the best hair dresser I have ever had. Not only does he have amazing haircutting skills, he also gives you great advise on what would work well with your face and type of hair. In addition, his hairstyler Celeste is very gifted with colors. I am so happy I have discovered Danka Panka a couple of years ago because I take pilates classes around the corner. Getting your cut and color can ad up in cost but it is worth every penny.

I have a very picky friend who insisted that I get my hair cut here by Dan. She won’t go anywhere else and basically bought me a haircut last christmas. At first I thought, how could he possibly be any different from any master stylist I’ve had? But by now I’ve my hair cut three times so far (by Dan), and I have to say, that man is so talented. Every time I leave a salon with a cut, it looks great the first day, very weird the next 2 weeks and terrible after a month. I thought it was just my hair and that I needed constant trimmings. Dan’s cut looks great the day of, amazing days after, and still incredible even 2 months after. I don’t feel like I need to have a cut every month with him but I would gladly if I didn’t live in another state. So, I will fly to see my best friend and family, and get my haircut at Danka.

Fantastic. Feels like and is a neighborhood salon but has the talent and style of one of the big Manhattan salons. Dan is great stylist and owner. I fly back to have Jocelyn masterfully cut and highlight my hair (moved to chicago). And it is very fairly priced.
