Critical: ValueI definitely would NEVER recommend this salon for any curly haired customers in need of a blowout. The first red flag was when I contacted the salon and the woman on the other line never gave me the name of the stylist who was going to serve me for my appointment. I ended up getting my hair done by the same receptionist who set up my appointment on the phone (whom I recognized by her accent).This stylist did not even remember the service that I asked for which was a second red flag to me. The third red flag was that she didn’t even prepare her station before I arrived. I have naturally curly hair and I instantly knew that this stylist had ZERO experience with my hair type the moment she began to blow dry it. It became a hat of voluminous frizziness and her curling iron skills did not make things any better.The iron she used did not appear to be strong enough to seal in my tips and they ended up looking completely fried. I also didn’t like the fact that she used hairspray as she ironed my hair; which I personally believe added more frizz to the process.And the final red flag, was when the total of their service (Which was a shampoo/trim/curling iron) ended up being $51.00, unlike the pricing on their website that clearly states it was actually $38.00. Although the employees were respectful and kept their salon clean, it was very disheartening to realize that their stylists had zero to no experience with curly haired customers. I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt because one shouldn’t be so quick to assume things. The first red flag was when I contacted the salon and the woman on the other line never gave me the name of the stylist who was going to serve me for my appointment. Critical: Professionalism, ValueNever ever try to take an appointment with Melony. She schedule my appointment through a text message yet forgot to update her calendar thereby double scheduling my spot with another customer.When I arrived she told me that she had forgot to write it down and I could wait until she was finished with the other person. Why should I be the the who waits, I mean the other customer wasn’t wrong yet I was one time and ready for my hair appointment.This isn’t fast food and when someone has a job which requires timeliness and hard scheduling then there is little room for these types of mistakes.I spoke with the owner and received the common, sorry and reschedule, it was an unfortunate mistake. But this is too late for excuses I should have been received or the other person could have been waited as this was originally planned 2 weeks before.This appointment was wasted time and it seems she played favorites for her other customer. Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, ValueBeen going here for years and am never disappointed! Kiara does an amazing job with whatever I want to do with my hair.
