I’ve been fortunate to lose a significant amount of weight this year but that hair thinning I’ve experienced is REAL and it completely threw me off. Cally and her staff are amazing. Truly. I drive over an hour because she makes my waves fall perfectly and the haircut grows out looking as good as it did the day I got it cut. Cally also educates her clients on how to care for curly hair, and I have learned so much. At my last appointment I was delighted to bring my curly-haired toddler for her first curly cut. This is such a long overdue review! For starters, I do have curly hair, so if you do as well, you know I spent LOTS of time researching the best curly hair salons in the city. And I’m so glad I found Cally’s Curls and Company! I’ve been getting my hair done by Cally for over 2 years now, and let me tell you she the absolute best! She is super nice, funny, down to earth, and extremely talented (in more ways then one! She is a musician, author, salon owner, and badass curly hair specialist just to name a few!) The salon itself it awesome! It has cool art and just a fun vibe all together. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Hannah has been cutting my hair for 10 years and is the only person I will let touch my hair for the rest of my life. She is the keeper of the curls. I trust her with my life. She always listens to what I want, although usually I just tell her to do as she pleases and I never regret it!!! She recommends the perfect products for my hair type, and teaches me how to easily style my hair at home. Great all around at what she does!

My first time visiting and the most expensive haircut of my life! But I took a risk and treated myself, which I hardly ever do and got a curly girl hair cut. You know us moms we are always taking care of others so it’s hard to justify taking care of yourself. But I felt pampered. Even just having someone else wash my hair was relaxing. I almost dozed off under the dryer too. My first time sitting under one of those too. I felt like I was in an old time movie set, like Steel Magnolias. I appreciated being asked what I do at home, but I wasn’t chastised as if I had been doing anything wrong. I was just slowly taught what the cut was, how my hair grows, what kind of products would work best. Even an offer to come back in if a hair was not cut properly in the first week or so after my cut. I’ve never had that before. Luckily, everything is lovely. My hair is easy to work with. I am not as adept as Margaret was, but my style lasts for days with minimal refresh each morning. Still deciding which products to purchase that were used on my hair, there was no hard sell, which I appreciated. I have so many products at home already, trying to see if any still work or if they need to be pitched.

It’s always difficult to find a hairstylist you can trust to handle your curly hair (my Google photo is from 2014 haha don’t take it as a reference I don’t look like that anymore), but you can trust this place for sure . I scheduled a haircut with Cally (who’s adorable) she looked at what my hair look like, curl patterns, asked about my routine and listened to what I wanted to do. Dry cut first to remove the dry ends, then shampoo/conditioner and then layering on dry hair. I asked for a trim + layering while keeping the length and that’s exactly what she did, I’m super happy about the result! She explains step by step what she does and why, the products she uses, gives you advice while listening to what YOU ask and want and that feels really good! Thank you again, I’ll definitely comme back!
