Update: I received a refund for my cut and was compensated for my next one. I appreciate the care for your customers! I have absolutely 0 confidence since this haircut so a refund was appreciated, it’s horrible to feel so bad about yourself with no way to fix it unless I just wait to let it grow out, so glad at least something could be done. After looking around the website a little, I realized that the new stylist I was placed with was NOT a senior stylist, but I was still charged as though she was. This was never mentioned to me.

Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Quality, ValueI went to Curl Evolution to get my hair colored. At the consultation, I mentioned I wanted dark chocolate brown partial highlights on my black hair, but when it came time to color it, I got a blondish color that wasn’t really what I asked for. (If you go, make sure you really specify what you want exactly and how subtle or bold you want your hair to look.) However, my stylist, Kelsey, was gracious enough to fix it for me exactly how I wanted it free of charge a couple of days later and it looks really good! If you don’t like silicone products, or if you’re very particular about what you want in your hair make sure you bring your own as they have a lot of products that contain silicones. Second time around I brought the products I normally use and my hair turned out great! The price was reasonable with $85 for a partial highlight with a complimentary curly hair styling. This is the ONLY salon I trust with my hair!! After a few bad experiences at regular salons in my younger years, I decided not to go to them anymore and took up cutting my own hair (shout-out to YouTube tutorials) though that only worked a couple of times before I realized I was constantly cutting too much and I cut off the amount that my hair grew. My hair grows slowly too so growing it out was tricky. I finally did some research into curly hair salons in the NYC/LI area and stumbled upon this place. I’ve been there three times already (over the course of a year) and the stylists are awesome— they trim my ends but not too much so that my hair can continue growing. Since last year it has grown so much and I’m so happy!! This time around, Julia was my stylist and I had such an awesome experience. She guided me through every step that she was taking, was super nice, and left me with beautiful curls. Will definitely be booking with her again. I drive all the way from Queens, but it’s so worth it for me. I wouldn’t go anywhere else for my hair!!

I was very eager and excited to go here knowing it was specifically for curly hair. Upon arrival everything was well. Easy and quick check in and a short wait time. I booked an appointment with Julia who was very kind and informative. Unfortunately I did not get the results I wanted. I asked for volume and got flat hair. After looking at her Instagram page that she shared with me on the Info cards she provided I see almost all her clients have almost the same style cut. I’m very upset. My birthday is in 3 days and I was hoping for different results but unfortunately now I have to hide my hair because I’m not comfortable with it. I will be wearing it up until it grows out a little and I can figure out what to do with it.

I went here on Tuesday the 26th for a full balayage with Angela. I showed her a picture of how I wanted my hair to look and she said okay. I vaguely remember her saying that maybe I might want to come back again for a partial balayage. When I got to the salon my hair was still a little wet in the back. I thought she would blow dry and then start but she started applying color to my somewhat wet hair. Some time goes by and then she starts rinsing out my hair and someone else applies product. I don’t have enough time to sit under the dryer so I leave. When my hair was fully dry I realized that it doesn’t look any different. You can barely tell there’s any color in the back. I’m disappointed because I spent $250 plus a $50 tip for my hair to look more or less the same. Angela wanted me to message her a picture of my hair when it dried and when I sent it, I told her that I don’t really notice any difference. I received no reply.

I’m so glad I found Curl Evolution, Melissa did a great job with my hair. It definitely feels great to go to a place that doesn’t straighten your hair after a cut. They will make you fall in love with your natural hair whether it is curly or straight.

I went to go get a haircut and a treatment the treatment was good no complain about that but the haircut she had given was so bad one side of my hair was longer than the other and she did layers but some of the layers were really really short after I had asked her not too short yesterday I went to get my hair cut somewhere else and the lady was telling me how they messed up my hair really badly I don’t think I’m ever going back there again
