Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Quality, ValueIn this era of COVID-19 and Government uneven decision-making with respect to what is essential and what is not (e.g. an auto dealership is essential and schools are not), I have been gone months (rather than my usual 3-4 weeks) without a haircut. My wife has been threatening to put me on a local street corner with a sign, asking for assistance.While the barber shop that I have supported for the last six years was not creative enough to find a way to open with outdoor services, CT Cuts in Oxnard was. I can’t praise the owner (Cecelia) enough for dealing with the local government bureaucracy to apply and pay for an outdoor use permit and for spending a considerable amount of money to acquire the equipment (barber chairs, tents, miscellaneous equipment not normally required for indoor hair care services).She is an energetic and creative small business owner who deserves our support during this difficult times.As for the operation of the shop in the outdoor environment, they are doing a good job. They take walk-ins, provide a waiting area with socially distanced seating in a tent which is screened for ventilation on one side and the stylists wear masks and work under properly distanced conditions. The price for a haircut remains a very reasonable $15.Valerie was the stylist who had to deal with the 3+ months growth of hair which I presented. She took her time as she worked, insuring that she was providing me with the type of haircut that I desired. I was more than very satisfied with her effort. Would recommend her for men’s haircuts.As for my previous barber shop, I won’t be returning there in the future.
