I went in here this morning for a color and right off the bat It was very very obvious that they did not want to do my hair. The first lady said she was too busy so she was going to call her manager. Both ladies basically gave me the highest possible price they could I guess attempting to scare me away from wanting my hair done. Neither was friendly and acted completely bothered that I was there. instead of giving me just one estimate by looking at my hair and making an educated guess they just told me it would be 190 for a simple highlight to start the. they would continue to add $13 on per bowl (couldn’t give me about how many I would need) and just continued adding money on for this and adding money on for that by the end of the visit they made it a point to stress it was ATLEAST $210 (almost making it out to seem like I couldn’t afford it) for a simple, highlight and lowlight. she told me she was going to eat breakfast and do some things and that I could come back in a little bit but once I started googling and checking the prices around town, I realized that nobody else was that expensive. It wasn’t even entirely the money that was the issue I would’ve paid that price and almost did but it was the fact that her attitude showed me she was bothered that I was there and I didn’t want her to do a sloppy job on my hair just trying to get me out of there nor do I want to be taken advantage of and overcharged just because my presence was getting on their nerves,.. people do do that out of spite. so I went to the front of Walmart to tell them I changed my mind and the first girl that had told me she was too busy to do My hair was sitting in a chair, fixing her own hair doing absolutely nothing .

I had a horrible experience with cost cutters. First I made an appointment on Monday @ the 54 location on the app, I get there and it’s closed. I made an appointment the next day on the app again for 4:30 @ 54 location again. I get there the stylist has someone in the chair and says she can’t get me in because they close at five even though the woman in the chair didn’t have an appointment. The stylist says sorry, we are closing this location anyway. I had a funeral to attend and just wanted a trim. I ended up calling the Frederica location and asking the manager, she gladly stayed over and did the trim. She was so sweet. I hate that my experience was so bad at the other location.

Pelaiah is my stylist. She does my natural hair, cuts my son’s hair and does my oldest son’s dreads as well. She also does my crochet at times. A consistent , well rounded hairstylist in this city is hard to come by. She does a wonderful job. I recommend her to plenty and she will always be my stylist. Great job landing this one.

Critical: Professionalism, PunctualityBeen there 4 times now in the last 2 weeks and never able to get a haircut for my son and myself. I am told they aren’t taking anymore customers for the day because they are closing in 30 minutes or like today they are completely booked up! There were 2 stylists there I assume, one was doing someone’s hair and the other one was sitting at the front desk combing on a wig. I ask if there was not going to be anymore stylist coming in and was told no. I always liked Costcutters because you could walk in and get you’re hair cut in an hour or two at the most. Now it’s impossible to even get in a chair without an appointment it seems. I have a 2 year son and making an appointment is not feasible with him because you never know his mood or when he’s gonna be tired. I’m very disappointed in the way they’ve become and the lack of stylist on duty. This is the place to go! I love coming here to get my haircut! Personally i only go to one person. She is the best, most dedicated person I know. She cuts my hair perfect every time. So if your ever in the area and need a hair cut ask for Pelaiah! She will make your haircut dreams come true! From highlights, coloring, or just a trim. Whatever you need! I literally just show her a pic of what I want. And every single time she cuts it so well! Highly suggest!! .

Great atmosphere! Very friendly people, loved it that Yadira was able to communicate in Spanish with my mother and cut her hair just the way she wanted!! It was PERFECT! Just what she has been asking for quite a while!!! I would highly recommend this place, will be coming back for sure!
