CORNIBE’S BARBER SHOP Cornibe’s Barber Shop is the oldest continuously operating barber shop in St. Tammany. Louis Joseph Cornibe III worked as a barber for the previous owner, Calvin Craddock, for six years before buying the business, which he operated as Cornibe’s Barber Shop’ since June, 1960. Craddock, the first owner, had built the quaint shop in 1932. In 1952, Lou Cornibe rented the third chair in the rear when haircuts were 50 cents. Bobby Cockerham, who worked with Mr. Lou for many years, is now the shop manager and continues to cut hair along with long time barber and retired St. Tammany Sheriff’s Deputy, Mike Moore.

Great Atmosphere but not the best barbers. The 2 main ones were probably great in their day but that day is long gone. My last cut today my hair and facial hair were messed up so bad I came home and shaved it all off. Can’t believe I paid for the service. Oh well, maybe they’ll put my money towards retirement. Hopefully that happens sooner than later. 2 stars for at least still having the old school shop look and feel.

Amazing! I Love the old time feel of this place. The barbers are admittedly not ‘stylists’, so this probably wouldn’t be a great choice for women looking for the latest fashion trend cut, but what A wonderful experience for guys of all ages! The barbers are so kind and friendly. They treated my 2yo Grandson like he was their own. Mr Mike was incredibly patient and gentle. My husband will be a regular starting with his next cut.

Our little boy got his first haircut there, 13 years ago when we lived in the house behind the shop! We were sad to hear that Mr. Lou passed away. Hope Bobby is there and doing well!

Just where can you go anywhere for a shave and a hair cut for 25 bucks? These old guys have the experience and know how. The shave in itself with hot towels is worth it…

Reminds you of when you got your haircut as a kid. Experienced barbers who are professional and entertaining. Haven’t gotten my hair cut anywhere else since I moved to Slidell in ’08!
