Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, ValueThey cut my son’s hair for his first haircut. Very cute place and he was able to pick a vehicle to get a haircut in (he chose a fire truck). They had Disney+ so he was able to watch toy story and he was great for the cut. The woman (Danielle) was great- friendly, great with kids and quick. We got a cute certificate with his picture on it and a lock of hair. We will definitely be back for his next cut. They cut my son’s hair for his first haircut. Very cute place and he was able to pick a vehicle to get a haircut in (he chose a fire truck). Took my son to cut his hair. The place is super cute , but dirty. They have a little play area and my son went to go down the slide and his entire clothes was filthy of hair and dust. We also had to wait for the stuff to clean the area where they cut the hair because it was full of hair as well. I understand if the place was packed and they didn’t have the time to clean, but the place was empty, and every time I passed by, it’s never busy. I would have giving a better review if the place is clean constantly, specially during this times of COVID and flu season. My sons hair came up nice, I was happy with the service and the price.

We normally go to the cookie cutters store in Mahwah, NJ. We happened to have some errands in the Livingston area so we decided to try out this location for my 4 year old daughter’s hair cut. While I understand that it can be challenging to cut a child’s hair when they are moving around, there is a way to work around that instead of telling mom to “push her head down”. Honestly, the stylist was brushing her hair super roughly as well. Thankfully, after my daughter calmed down, she did get a beautiful haircut. However, I think the stylists should have more patience and understanding working with toddlers at a kids’ salon. I saw the other stylist working much more gently and in the future I will ask for her.

We had a positive experience here. The salon is very clean, and we had no wait (with an appointment). The stylist (Talin) gave our son a nice haircut and was patient even though he was not the easiest client. He got a balloon and lollipop at the end. (I might upgrade my rating later to five stars; I generally don’t like to give five stars to places like hair salons until I’ve been a few times, since experiences can vary.)

Kid’s haircuts are pretty simple, but the details and care are what you’re paying for. A close family friend recommended Cookie Cutters and we went to this location. However, our child’s stylist did not provide the care and detail we were expecting.

We took our 2.9 years old son here for haircut. The lady who cut my son’s hair told my son to sit at the fire truck seat. However, when I glanced at the seat, it was so so so dirty with a lot hair inside and outside the seat!!!! I mentioned this was so dirty and the lady just used a hair dryer to blow one or two seconds and used a towel to seem like wiping a few seconds. When I checked, it was almost no improvement at all. She emphasized that it was the seat material’s issue and the hair won’t attach to humans…. Believe me, it is not. I used my fingers to touch the seat and got a lot hair at my finger tips. The problem is the staff doesn’t clean the seat properly for sure. I finally chose a black big kid seat since it looks better than the cars. Another upset thing is that the lady isn’t professional at all!!! She made a sharp angle at my son’s left side edge and said ‘he moves!’. It is ridiculous If you expect a 2 years old boy to sit there without moving, especially hearing noisy haircut kit on his head. My son did several haircuts at another place where he felt so comfortable but we moved so cannot go back again. A professional one should have ways to calm little kids. This is why we seek haircut at a store rather than do it at home. Will never come back again.

We took our son here for his first haircut, mind you he is 2.5! Daniele was absolutely amazing! He did not cry, did not fuss, but instead did not want to get out of the car/chair after she was done! We were seen right away, walked in and were attended to immediately. I would highly recommend Daniele, we will be back for his next haircut.

Danielle was incredible. She fixed my son’s terrible haircut from a previous hairdresser. My parents had my kids for the summer and took my son somewhere and they did a really bad job. I don’t know where (I would tell you because they had the nerve to them $20 for an awful haircut.) I brought my son to Danielle and she fixed him in less than 10 minutes while chatting me up. She could have cut his hair in her sleep – she’s a natural. And my kid is squirmy! But we left, with a perfect cut ready for the wedding he will be in. I would come back her regularly but I’m from GA. If you want the best, come here.

I definitely do not plan to bring my son back here. For an establishment that claims to specialize in kids haircuts they certainly do not do a good job of creating a kid friendly environment. Our stylist was cold, unfriendly, lacked patience, and did not interact with my son to try to make him comfortable. She acted like being there was the worst part of her day and was displeased when I asked her to clean up around his ears after literally taking two snips of hair and saying he was done. I asked to clean up around his ears and neck and you couldn’t even tell any hair was cut off. Not sure why you would want to work as a kids hairstylist when you clearly don’t enjoy it. She was in such a rush to get rid of us so I paid a ridiculous amount of money to finish cutting his hair at home myself. Steer clear, will look for another haircutter.
