Critical: Professionalism, QualityEarlier this summer, I came to Colour salon for a hair trim and style. Having attended this salon in the past, with good customer service, I wasn’t expecting my time there to be degrading and insulting. Rosita was my stylist. I had never met her before but I was very excited when I found out we were both from Middle Eastern descent. At first things began smoothly, until she found out I was only half Persian. She began to say condescending remarks, inquire if I had friends that were Persian, demanded to know if my relatives were “Persian or did they marry white?!” – things that do NOT relate to getting my hair done. I was shocked by her tone and condescending manner but since I am one who likes to keep peace, I didn’t say anything. As she began to style my hair, she told me my hair was horrible, damaged, bad, frizzy, and dead. I struggle with hair issues so I asked her for advice on what I can do to help fix this. She offered me no solution (she did point to a poster for Keratin and said I was a prime candidate. Knowing that this treatment has not worked for me in the past, I asked her for more information about it. To which she replied “oh – that poster is just advertisement, not what I’m talking about” and didn’t discuss anything further). When the time came for her to blow dry my hair, she took out a flat brush and began smacking my head as she yanked my head down with the brush. Then Rosita brushed my hair upwards in the opposite direction one should brush, and said “see? All this is damaged, bad hair. Terrible. Dry damaged hair. You don’t want me to lie to you, do you??” I have never bobbed my head around as much as I did that day, nor have I EVER been smacked by a brush while being styled before. After she turned off the blow dryer, she put her hands on either side of my head, and squeezed while saying “see this frizz?? I can’t get rid of it. Frizz. See?” I have been going to various hair salons for the past 22 years and never have I ever, in the history of EVER going to any salon, left with frizzy hair and being told I looked terrible because of my hair. I have never felt degraded or humiliated by my stylist but I did this day. I felt discriminated against and insulted because of my ethnicity. When I left, patches of my hair were still wet and not finished drying. She rushed the entire procedure and then left before I even had a chance to say anything at the end. I still left her a tip, because I refused to stoop to someone else’s low level but I had to leave it with the front desk because she vanished. I left there feeling very saddened that someone would mistreat another person this way.Services: Hairstyling, HaircutEarlier this summer, I came to Colour salon for a hair trim and style. Everyone at Colours is extremely helpful and very friendly. I’m always greeted and checked in very quickly and have never had to wait for my service. Lorraine is phenomenal at waxing (all types). I highly recommend her. She made me feel very comfortable. I will continue to go back and would recommend this salon to all.

I absolutely love Colours Salon and Day Spa! I have been going here for several years for my facials and massages. I moved an hour away and still travel to Colours, because I have not found another spa capable of providing products and service as exceptional as Colours. Their staff is always friendly and they keep to the schedule, so when you walk in for an appointment they are ready for you. I have had nothing but incredible experiences at Colours. I would recommend it to anyone!

I have been going to Colours for several years and love it. Amanda who answers the phone is always kind and helpful. For cut and color, Teri Kline is amazing. I have naturally curly hair and after years of bad haircuts, I have finally found someone who can cut my hair to look hip and manageable. She is also fantastic with hair color. For manicure/pedicures, Angie Fortini is my favorite! She is sweet, gentle and kind. She makes every visit a wonderful experience and matches colors for my nails perfectly with my skin tone. Colours is an awesome salon. My mom has gone here for years to get her hair colored and I have used it for various other services.

I have been going to Colours for many years. I have gone to many salons for waxing and facials. Nahid is the best Esthetician in the Baltimore area. She is detailed so you know you are getting the best service experience you can. Her warm personality has me looking forward to every appointment. The service at Colours is exceptional. Making and changing appointments is easy as they use a system that is person based not just appointment based. They can pull me up by my name to tell me the appointments I have booked through the next year!

Every pedicure I get at Colours is relaxing, soothing and leaves my toes looking their best. All of the employees are super friendly and helpful. And the spa itself is clean and well maintained. I have even taken my daughter-in-law there for a visit.

I’ve been going to Colours for about three years and I love it! It’s some nice time away from reality 🙂 Tori is a fantastic stylist and I recommend her and everyone on the staff. Warm and inviting and not snobby, like some other local salons.

I’ve been to Colours two times and had a great experience! The first time I went for a color correction. A previous place I went to did a terrible job with my highlights and when I went to Colours, the owner and stylist made sure I got what I wanted this time. The staff listens and are extremely friendly. The second time I went back for highlights and a cut and it came out perfect! I definitely recommend this salon!
