Critical: ProfessionalismNot wheelchair accessible. My dad is wheelchair bound, and this place couldn’t be more barred to him if this was the Jim Crow South and he was a black man. The barber had a thought of putting the wheelchair inside and dad simply take the three steps up. No, those three steps are a barrier he can’t overcome.What is a business like this doing in the 21st century? I hoped we had grown beyond that. Obviously not.Edit: I just read the owner’s answer, and that demands a reply.This isn’t a baseless criticism, it’s a cold hard fact that my father can’t get into this place because it isn’t ADA compliant. I know this because I physically walked into the business to make an appointment.As to not contacting the business before I wrote this review, I was inside the business when I saw that my wheelchair-bound father couldn’t get in there! How else could the barber make a suggestion to me for my dad to get in? I spoke to the representative of the business face to face prior to writing the review.The fact that the owner defensively lashed out on here instead of either offering a solution beyond what the barber did, or apologizing/explaining why it’s impossible to retrofit his building (maybe, I don’t know because the owner didn’t try), tells me everything I need to know. I’m glad I’m taking my dad to another place in town that IS handicapped accessible.Not wheelchair accessible. No barbers in my hometown could consistently deliver the drop fade look I was after, so a friend referred me to his shop in Frankfort.Blake agreed to come in early on a Saturday morning just to make it work with my work schedule. The cut was great, as you’ll come to expect here, but what really impressed me was the feeling of an experienced business owner caring for his client.That feeling unfortunately is becoming an aspect of business that is overlooked for flashier gimmicks and fatter profits, with the customer just being a means to those ends. So when you feel considered and respected AND get a fresh cut, the difference is night and day.Since then Blake has brought in second barber, Diego, who is amazing to say the least. His and Blake’s fades match any that you’ll find in a bigger city, but with great prices and that priceless client focused attitude.It just feels like a real barbershop, and it’s always worth the drive, no matter how far.Edit: Oh and great tp.
