I have been getting my hair braided here for over 15 years. Claudette is warm and welcoming as soon as you walk in the door. Always on time and fast, beautiful work. At Claudette’s, they don’t rip out your edges unlike other braiding salons I have gone to before I came to Claudette’s. My kids love her shop as well . They enjoy her parrots.

Critical: ProfessionalismI am very disappointed with my recent experience at this establishment. I have been coming to this hair salon for the past two years and after this experience I will never come back again. I initially called to inquire about the pricing for a hairstyle and I was informed it would cost $115. When I finished my appointment, I noticed the slip the hairdresser provided me with listed $130 as the price for the style. When I get to the counter the owner put the slip aside and asked me “what was the price we agreed on when you called” I said $115 and she responded by telling me that it wasn’t $115, it was $150 and said she would take off $10 from the amount for me. I understand that business is slow due to COVID but that does not give anyone permission to scam customers. In the two years I had been to the salon I have never had an issue with “miscommunication” in regards to the price. I have visited this shop numerous times. Each time they do a fantastic job. The staff is professional and fast. The atmosphere is friendly and comfortable. I just had my hair done again this Saturday i was late for my appointment and had to wait but believe me it was well worth the wait. Everywhere i go people compliment me on how pretty my hair looks and ask who did it. I proudly say Claudettes Braiding Gallery on New Hampshire ave. This is a great braiding place, and the best I have been to in the DMV area. I am a big fan of 125 st in Harlem and moving here had issues finding the same mixture of affordability and quality. I was able to make an appointment with Claudette’s very easily, and had a wonderful experience with Aisha. She was a quick braider, and did an impeccable job. My braids are beautiful and I will definitely be back!

My Experience was absolutely hobbile!I I called on a Saturday morning to see what the price would be to get my two years old hair done… I was told by the owner herself thirty-dollars! I agree to the price and told her I was on my way in I let her know over the phone my daughter does fuss like most girls her age… we I finally got there they were all rude the stylist who did my toddlers hair did not put oil in it on anything so after she finally finished her hair I went and pay the owner the thirty dollars and came back and gave the stylist a six dollars tip.this is where it gets crazy the stylist proceeds to Wright me a recipient for 45$ after the owner had already given me a price don’t waste your time the have a wonderful hair gallery in the shopping center off new hampsure next to the shoppers have a blessed day!
