So I have been coming to City nails for over a year now. Let’s start with the staff. Ummm. AMAZING! Always so welcoming and sweet and fun. Legit makes us feel like family, knows us by name. Hangs with my daughter when she’s done. Super bubbly and just All around dolls! My nail tech??? Pshh. Hands down best around. Billy is forever a perfect human and can do no wrong! I let him free style every appointment and he has NEVER FAILED to leave me speechless. I feel extra bougie. My daughter goes to Inna. Who again, also a perfect human! Never ever has disappointed and has created this amazing bond with my daughter that she now refuses to even go to anyone else. Added bonus. Billy has an adorable little shop mascot / princess chilala who literally brightens the room because she is the most sassiest cutest pup ever. Personally I would never go elsewhere. We’ve looked for years for a nail shop this good and now we’re bonded and family. We are treated like absolute queens *as we should be* they speak nothing but loving words into the world. The vibe of the place in itself is super extra, clean, beautiful and modern. Ugh. Everything about here is amazing. Love love love my city nails fam. Also. BIPOC. LGBTQ+ and kid friendly. Will always support them and everything they do! Couldn’t think of one thing I’d change. So glad we found them.

The atmosphere is busy but not too loud. They get booked up quick so while they say walk-ins welcome, it’s best to call ahead and schedule an appointment. The people are friendly and they are good at what they do. They offer drink while you wait and you can order drinks while you get your nails done. My only constructive feedback is that my experience could’ve been better had my order choice not been disparaged. Why even have a regular acrylic nail set on the menu if when ordered you are going to assume we meant gel and try to say the price is $65 when an acrylic set starts at $45? For a manicure with regular polish they really tried to “warn” me what an awful choice it is without even knowing me or my frame of reference. “It smudges, takes forever to dry, only lasts 2-4 days. We don’t do fixes.” Why even have it on the menu if you aren’t going to support my order choice? For two people who rarely get their nails done, and it was meant to be a way to treat ourselves in the moment and make ourselves feel good, I did not feel good about my order and it was directly related to the comments and upselling of the nail techs. That said, our nails came out great. There was no pain involved and they made sure we liked their work before we paid.

I don’t understand why this place is rated so highly. My service was extremely rushed. They filed off the previous gel polish instead of soaking and when I asked about it she said “that takes too long”. Filing off gel is extremely bad for the nail bed, and that’s not something you should cut corners with. That would be like going to get a haircut and they just cut off your pony tail and say “sorry I’m short on time today”. Also the new gel started popping off the next day, like the entire nail. So now it needs redone only 2 days later. Also she didn’t do any scrubbing or callous removal, so what did I even pay $50 for?

Do NOT recommend!! I have a bad back, making it difficult to cut my own toe nails. I came here for my first ever pedicure and the tech left gnarly corners on my big toe nails, leading to painful ingrown nails. So, I ended up having to fix those nails myself, hurting my back in the process. Definitely do not go here.

The owner is amazing!! I only get my nails done by him and the relationships he has with his staff and customers is so refreshing. Such a people person and it makes the experience so much more. I’ll never go anywhere else.

The owner Billy was TERRIBLE. He burned me so many times and said that pain is good…I said no it’ not. The shape he did was terrible and I had to here constantly about his husband and how he was constantly fawned over by him…and how he loves to party. His husband was even there telling him how good he looked in his outfit and hug him (in the middle of working on me). He was interrupted by another employee to talk about a medical appointment. Not professional at all, and this is THE OWNER. He rushed me even though I booked with extra time he started doing the wrong thing on me…I needed a backfill of the white, it should have been obvious, he started to only fill the pink. He used the cutters to rip off parts of my nail and told me I needed to tell them that when I made my appointment (which I actually did and requested extra time). He was rushed and was waiving to the next lady he was doing and had to run up and hug her in the middle of doing my nails. He was not sanitary, tools were not cleaned in between clients. They seated me right after his last client, he just brushed away the old nail shavings, did not change out and drill tips, and used the same bits on me. The counter was not cleaned and the padded item you rest your hands on was cracked and disgusting. He ruined my nail beds with his drill, as an added bonus. Will NEVER EVER go through that torture chamber again.
