I grew up hating my hair because I never knew how to take care of it. Turns out, my hair isn’t frizzy, it’s curly way. I got a haircut and styling lesson by Melissa who made me feel like a million bucks. Everyone was so nice and welcoming from start to finish while teaching me how to care for my curls. It wasn’t a cheap visit but I see it as an investment that will pay off down the line. Here’s to embracing my curls!

I have lived most of my life hating my hair so I was already in love when I heard that there was a salon that focuses on my type of hair. I made an appointment with Rachel for a cut and color. I knew I wanted red but I was unsure if I was going to be able to get it because the last two salons I went to for hair color, did not give me the color I wanted and argued with me saying that they can’t because I have virgin hair. Rachel threw all those excuses that they used before away and told me that she would not only be able to help me without using bleach on my hair but she will also be able to give me the color I wanted. She started by doing a dry cut and then did the color. Afterwards, she washed and conditioned my hair, all while teaching me the best way to style it. She was very friendly and accommodating when it came to my wants as well as still seeing me even though I was stuck in traffic and running late. I am so very happy with my hair and with the services I received. Everyone in this salon is very friendly and I highly recommend it for anyone with curly hair! I traveled from the Bronx and I have no regrets whatsoever and I will definitely be coming here again when I get the chance!

What an amazing place!! I took my 7 and 8 year old daughters here for their first curly cuts and it was a great experience. The staff is knowledgeable, kind, patient, talented and fun. I started off by bringing my daughter to get her hair done because I was still learning how to maintain her hair type without damaging it and fell in love with the results. I love this place! I started off by bringing my daughter to get her hair done because I was still learning how to maintain her hair type without damaging it and fell in love with the results. Although I had doubts about getting good curl results out of my damaged hair, I was proven wrong. I had the pleasure of getting my hair done by Rachel and she did wonders on my hair. I had an amazing experience at this salon! I have left other curly salons crying but I was so happy with not only my outcome but my experience. Mel was my hair stylist and is very skilled. I appreciate how she let me lead the direction I wanted for my haircut. When I was unsure how short I wanted to cut it she made sure to leave some length and was more then happy about cutting it shorter after. And that’s just what we did . I am so happy and thrilled to find a salon like this and every single person who works there is very warm and fun to talk to and be around. I definitely will be coming back!

Melissa is the absolute best curly hair stylist I have ever tried and I have tried a lot. I live on the upper east side of Manhattan and make the trip to Staten Island because she is worth it!!!! Don’t hesitate. The woman is extremely talented and really styles to meet each person’s individual needs based on the person’s curly type.
