I’ve been going to get my facials here for over a decade.

You might end up with a very upset staff that will take it on your skin if you don’t take extra treatments or products they will push hard to sell during your visit, manager is or pretends to be fine with that. I know it sounds crazy, I couldn’t believe either. I went once, initially for a facial only , but I end up accepting adding two more treatments they offered during my visit and buying some products. My bill end up been a few hundred dollars more of course. The second time I went, about 3 months after, I wanted to do only a facial, I was ready for them to be very pushy trying to make me buy treatments and products as the first time, but I wasn’t ready for a very upset staff even threatening me saying that if I wouldn’t do it , my facial would be “very painful and it will let me all swollen”. I thought I was over reacting to the situation, she maybe thought I wasn’t use to facials, I know you can be carefully pinched, or it could be a little painful since even when I don’t have big problems with my skin, I have done a lot of treatments from acupuncture to laser, so I thought she meant “normal” swollen and painful probably, so we started. As soon as she cleaned my skin she started immediately pinching systematically and quickly my face with a needle, she didn’t evaluated the skin before pinching me, I have very thick skin so i don’t bleed even with micro needling, but I could feel the pinches were deep and my forehead started bleeding. I have no major acne, I felt it was too painful, too deep and because of the way she was talking (complaining) I could tell she was upset. I asked her to stop it ,just didn’t felt right. She got up, all upset and said ” I will call my manager” , like her manager will tell me off. In the meantime I stand up to get dress, and saw myself in the mirror with blood literally running from the pinches on my face. After talking to the manager, she offered a different assistant, and a treatment as a courtesy, the new assistant was Lulu, she was a sunshine and did a great job, i even added a treatment and bought products again. Later, the owner came to talk to me. I was very surprised that such an unethical attitude was supported by the owner saying that it was “normal” to have literally blood running though my forehead. Its been 3 days now, I did the best to take care of it, and still my face have all the marks that lady did in maybe a couple of minutes before I stop her, the other girl Lulu, worked through the rest of my face, neck and back, I didn’t bleed or had any single mark from her work. I never had such a damage in any treatment I have done I will not go back if the owner supports such an unethical behavior.

Critical: ValueI got recommended this spa by a friend, so I was really excited about it. Unfortunately I was really bummed by the actual service. While they definitely focus on extractions which is great, I left completely red and bleeding since they use a needle to open the pimple to pop. I was up sold multiple times to add a peel or add a mask but I wanted to see what the normal facial service was. It was minimal at best, first steam with short facial massage, left in the room alone with steam for 10 minutes, extractions for 10 minutes, a mask and left alone for 10 minutes and then a second mask left and left alone for 10 minutes. I did not feel like I got focused individual attention for the hour service, as the provider was probably in the room for 25 of the hour. Not worth $120, I could get the same minimal experience somewhere cheaper.I got recommended this spa by a friend, so I was really excited about it. I’ve been here twice now (microdermabrasion and facial) and they are the BEST! The amount of attention they give to unclogging pores is incredible – it’s why I come here, they do a meticulous job and I trust their methods. I used to be a regular at CAP Beauty and I’ve tried a few other higher-end places but now this is my go-to.

Love this place. I usually don’t break out but I was having some terrible break outs a couple of months ago. I made an appointment and hoped for the best. Wow I cannot tell you how my skin changed. Yes you leave here and you do have so spots on your face but give it a chance. After three days my face was totally healed, clear, and glowing. People would not stop commenting on how great my face looked. I highly recommend.

This place is an oasis. I was able to book very easily and on my arrival I was very impressed with their covid protocols. I received such a thorough facial that at the same time was very relaxing. I walked out of there looking and feeling great and could see results – my skin felt and looked amazing for quite a while afterwards too. While a bit pricey, it is worth every single penny in my opinion.

Simply the best facial in NYC… I happened upon the spa a few years ago and had a facial and microdermabrasion at my first appointment. Needless to say I have been hooked ever since. Although it’s pricey, it is worth every penny. This is not your typical pampering treatment but a get down to the business of cleaning and renewing your skin experience. Christine is a genius and I absolutely love the products as well!

I’ve been going to Christine Chin Spa for over a year. I always see Coco who is lovely. I joke with her the facial is torture but no pain, no gain as they say. Coco makes me laugh and I always enjoy talking to her while having my treatment. I have the facial and microdermabrasion which together is expensive, but worth it. I have sensitive and combination skin and this facial is great for me. I recommend it if you’re looking to really clean your pores, help clear up problem skin and with experts who know what they are doing. Thanks Coco! Enjoy x

If I could give Christine Chin Spa no stars I would! I have never written a review on a company but feel I need to now.

I wanted to love this experience so much after hearing so much praise, however, my experience was a bit disappointing. I had booked to get a glow facial done and went through the normal protocol. The esthetician only asked me when my last facial was and didn’t proceed to ask what my normal skincare routine is which I found quite strange. We began the facial and after having the steamer on my face she excused herself from the room and said she would be right back. After 20 minutes of still having the steamer on my face, water dripping down my skin… the esthetician finally came back into the room. The worst part about the experience was the amount of pressure she has put on my face while doing the extractions. I have never been in so much pain from a facial, it felt like she was about to dislocate my nose and cheekbones. My nose was partially bruised the next day… I was so disappointed after the procedure. I do want to give this place another try, just not with the same esthetician.
