I have tanned with Luxor for many, many years as has my mom and sister. Luxor employees always welcomed everyone by name and made you feel welcome. Ever since your company has taken over no one knows anyone by name. They treat you only as another customer, not as someone who has been going to the previous owners establishment for many years. I understand you trying to pull in more clientele but not by pushing away the ones who have been committed to this place for many years. Giving free tanning to anyone but then taking away beds and stand ups during the same time and making your paying clientele have to wait was not good for business. Like a previous comment by someone I hope you get to understand this is a small town who have many loyal customers but pushing them away really makes me feel I need to find somewhere else.

I absolutely LOVE this location!! I only get to tan here when I’m visiting my family in Oakland County on weekends, which is 2-3 times per month. This location makes me wish I still lived in Clarkston. The beds and rooms are always immaculately clean. The girls who work here are very sweet and helpful.

I went in and asked for one month unlimited tanning. When I went in I was told I had to do a minimum of 3 months only. my husband was with me and I consulted with him to see what route I should take and he suggested I just do the three months so that we could get ready for our vacation and then I could have a little extra tanning time after. So I authorized the three months, and 5 months later I’m still being charged every single month. I called to voice my complaint and I was told on the phone that I never had to sign up for 3 months that I could have only done one month and I cannot cancel unless I physically go into their office to cancel and fill out a cancellation form. I also mentioned that I was going to call the bank to stop those 2 unauthorized charges and the young Tenness girl laughed and said “we already have you’re money, your not getting it back!” Obviously she’s young and doesn’t have a bank account to understand that she’s wrong. But the point is, not only are they charging me extra but now I have to go out of my way to cancel something that I didn’t want extended anyway. And when I go in to file my cancellation I’m laughed at in the face as if my frustrations and concerns are comical to their establishment instead of them being concerned about customer satisfaction. I have been in the restaurant and bar industry as well as the wedding industry for over 25 years and I know customer service. I would never disrespect customers the way I felt disrespected with my money, my time and my business! I will tell everything I know not to go there again!

When you buy a business I feel it’s only fair to honor the existing package clients bought and paid for from the previous owner. Good luck to you being new to this town…you have lost my 15+ years of business over a few dollars. Nickels and dimes will never add up to loyalty…your upselling will cost you your business. I have nothing but great things to say about Chili Pepper’s Tanning, especially at this location!! The quality of tanning and the low prices cannot be topped! They always have some sort of deal/promotion going on as well! By far though, the best part about tanning here is the wonderful staff! Every single employee who has ever helped me has been so helpful, knowledgeable and most of all extremely warm and kind! I recommend Chili Peppers to everyone who asks and sometimes even to those who don’t! Best tanning experience I’ve ever had by far!!
