After moving to Asheville, I tried numerous hair designers with varying degrees of satisfaction. Then one evening while having dinner at a restaurant, I noticed a young woman at a nearby table with such a great hair cut that I had to go over and ask her who was her hairdresser. She said it was Chuck, the owner of Chiavaras. I immediately called for an appointment and was so happy! Have been going there now for 2 or 3 years and I can’t imagine going anywhere else. Chuck Chiavaras did a miraculous rescue job yesterday on icky yellow highlights overdone elsewhere and was a delight to be around. People seem to have a lot of fun in his salon! Coincidentally Chuck fixed a botched perm for a friend of mine who drove three hours to see him decades ago. The pleasant salon decor, ample parking lot, location near Trader Joe’s, courteous staff and large selection of interesting magazines are icing on the cake.
