I went to Chelsea Dermatology twice. Both visits were with different drs. Both visits were rushed and abruptly finished. Neither dr. engaged with me. They barely looked me in the eye. Both exams were finished in minimal time, and both exited the door quickly as they were on to the next patient. I’m 63 yrs old. I’ve never had a body scan for skin cancer. My total body scan took less than five minutes, and he was out the door! Not at all thorough. I had to point out areas I needed checked. Getting a $250. bill for that was difficult to accept. I only went back that second time because I thought the first experience was just a fluke. It wasn’t.

I have been taking my son to this dermatologist for the same issue for over a year. I get a different doctor at every visit, and I have to push them to try new things since they seem to only want to do follow up visits every 2 months, but offer no real solutions. Finally, we were at the point where he could have a procedure paid for by insurance (as I had asked the doctor and nurse about on our previous visit). I called the office to ensure his next visit was scheduled as a procedure visit as I did not want to pay for another “pat on the head” visit which was still 2 months of waiting. I was told this would not be a problem, that this visit was easily performed in office, and that the visit has been changed. He gets there and they say they don’t perform the procedure in office and offer only two names of dermatologists that offer it in the area. So I paid for yet another specialist visit where all they did was ask how the last treatment worked (which I divulged in the phone call when I tried to change the procedure). Now the poor kid has to wait another 2 months to start with a new dermatologist as a consultation and THEN we can schedule the procedure. So we are looking at several months for a resolution. Do not waste your time or money going here, you will get a different answer depending on who you talk to and you have to wait for months for a visit where the only thing accomplished is they take your money. Side note: MOST dermatologists in the area offer this particular procedure.

I had my first and last appointment today. Dr. Shah was extremely pleasant and knowledgeable. Kelsey, the nurse who took me back to the room was EXTREMELY rude and is the reason I’ll never return to this office. I was fortunate enough to not need a follow up appointment but if I did, or do in future, I will not be returning.

Nothing but good things to say about this group! Office staff are friendly and professional, and the medical staff is thorough and treats patients with dignity. I had a bleeding mole several years ago that raised great concern for me. The Jackson group I contacted said they could get me an appointment in two months. Chelsea Dermatology got me in the next day!

My wife tried to book an appointment before the pandemic occurred and the office said they could not get her in. They then auto generated an appointment for 6/4/2020 and billed us for a no show. The even better part of this whole thing was she called back not knowing about the scheduled appointment and tried to get an appointment when office’s started to re-open and they told her the earliest she could get in was August. Then she asked if she could just get a new script for psoriasis and the receptionist told her not with out an appointment…….. Poor communication for such a very expensive practice. I get reminders from my chiropractor for appointments and have always been given the option to reschedule.

Rude, rude , rude. Kelsey, who brought me back to take my history was short, rude and unprofessional. If you don’t enjoy people or your job, do the practice a favor and leave. Dr. Shah was pleasant, professional and answered all my questions and concerns. I would highly recommend him.

If you have a choice, see a PA or Dr. Gill. I went for a full body check and the male doctor didn’t spend more than 2 minutes glancing at me, and I do mean just a glance. He froze 1 spot and charged $248, and that was with a self-pay discount. Very disappointed with this visit!!

I had seen the male physician- he seems very knowledgable. He went out of his way to call me the following day to make sure I was doing better. Highly recommend.
