Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, ValueI would recommend Changes Family hair salon to anyone looking for a professional, clean, inviting salon that has caring stylists who do great work. My mom passed away very suddenly and unexpectedly and her funeral was Tuesday March 29th. After making funeral arrangements and getting past the shock of losing my mom I realized at the last minute that I desperately needed a hair cut and my greys covered (it had been almost 3 years since I had had a hair cut or done anything with my hair)before my moms showing on Tuesday morning. After calling every salon I could think of in the Ohio Valley on Monday I did a google search for salons near me to see if there were any open that I just hadn’t heard of or been to before. I went down the line calling all the ones I didn’t already call and explained my situation and was having no luck finding someone to fit me in their schedule last minute with such short notice. Then I called Changes, by this time it was already around 6pm and I was feeling pretty hopeless that I was just not going to be able to get my hair cut. When I explained my situation to the receptionist at Changes (and I forget her name, but she is amazing) and she was so caring and compassionate. She asked me to hold so she could talk to the stylist to see if they were able to help me. It took her less than one minute to get back on the phone and ask me how long it would take me to get there, and that they would be there waiting for me and they’ll take good care of me. When I got there it was just the receptionist and the stylist, Crystal, so I could tell they stayed open just for me. Crystal took her time helping me decide what what kind of color I wanted to cover my greys, and how I wanted my hair cut, how much I wanted taken off etc. She didn’t rush anything at all even though I was her last client of the day and they stayed there just to do my hair she made me feel like I was her first client that day and didn’t make me feel like she was in a hurry or that I needed to quickly decide what I wanted so she could go home. She talked to me the whole time and was so kind to me. When my hair was finished she dried it and even offered to flat iron it for me even though that would’ve taken more time from her night she didn’t care she just wanted to make sure I was happy with my hair and I couldn’t have been happier with how it turned out. The cut and color turned out exactly how I wanted it to and the price was even better than I was expecting to pay, especially considering the amount of time she took on my hair and how late it was in the evening. I’m definitely going to be going back to Crystal for all of mine and my daughter’s hair needs. Critical: QualityApparently they dont understand that color does not lift color. I had dark brown hair, wanted to go red. She put red on top of my brown so all it did was give me hot roots bc she was too lazy to bleach my hair which I woulda paid for. My daughter then had the same stylist which was Shannon. She had red hair and went brown. All Shannon did was put the brown on top of it which bleeds through when it fades. I didn’t even go to cosmetology school and I know this stuff but apparently these people don’t.
