Cartoon Cuts of Springfield, Virginia (inside the Springfield Mall) is probably the best place to get children’s haircuts in the whole southern Fairfax County region. We’ve tried a couple of different places and none of them worked out. We had a particularly bad experience at one hair salon in the Springfield area that almost psychologically ruined my son for haircuts – he never wanted another haircut again, and preferred even the dentist. But a visit to cartoon cuts solved that, and now he has great hair and positive outlook. He’s no longer scared of getting his haircut. The hair salon staff were patient and professional. They also communicated with my son about what they were doing and frequently asked if he was okay if they proceeded. In fact, both of my sons have now had multiple positive experiences at Cartoon Cuts. Each of the seats has a TV screen playing cartoons like paw patrol; they give out free lollipops; and have toys for sale at the front counter. The toys are a particularly good reward for the child being well-behaved during the visit. The salon is also superbly located – right next to an indoor play park inside the mall. I highly recommend Cartoon Cuts of Springfield, and wish them every bit of success in the future.

Minh was amazing! This is the best haircut my son has had in his 3 years. 🙂 Minh listened to what we wanted and was so patient with our wiggly son. He did a great job while our son sat on daddy’s lap. Will definitely be back when we are in the area! Thank you!!

Took my son there for his first haircut. Worst decision. He now looks like Jim Carey in Dumb and Dumber. The sides are uneven and it just looks bad. Will never use this place again. They also advertise that they do special things for your babies first hair cut. They don’t. Save your money and go anywhere else! Kids’ cuts

This was 100% the worse possible haircut situation we’ve ever experienced. We brought our 8 year old son to get his long hair cut. First,the person who we scheduled our appointment with was “not working” so the only person present had our son sit down in the chair. We showed the stylist a photo of what we wanted, and he nodded as if he understood what we were asking for. Additionally, we asked several times if our son’s hair was long enough to be donated, but he kept ignoring our question.

Brought our 1 yo daughter here for her first haircut. We told the employee that we just wanted it a little bit shorter so the hair wouldn’t be in her eyes. Before you know it, the employee had the electric clippers out and had cut off a few inches before turning to us and asking, a little too late, if we thought that it was short enough. It was definitely short, much shorter than we wanted it to be, and now she looks like a well-trimmed boy. They also scratched her neck with the trimmers. Never coming back here again.

Clean accomodations. Friendly staff that was gentle and patient with my child and I. Even offered us a lollipop on the way out. Prices are on the higher side but not unreasonable. Had to reiterate style instructions several times but otherwise the cut came out exactly as directed.

We have taken our two-year-old here three times. One of the times, the lady (don’t remember her name), didn’t seem very engaged with him, and didn’t seem very happy to be there. The other two times, Binh cut his hair. She was very good with him, and new how to get him to cooperate. She was very friendly and did a great job. I don’t know how many people work there, but I would recommend going there if Binh is working.

I wish I can give them 0 stars! I will talk about the hair cut later but let me tell you one thing that these people are nothing but dangerous. They just want to finish their job ASAP and not even knowing that kid is comfortable or not. My 20 months old kid just had a nightmare yesterday with person called Minh there. That person is rude and so unfriendly with his hands that he was holding so tight my kid that after sometime he started bleeding from nose. Even looking after the blood also that ridiculous person was not stopping at all and kep on going with his trimmer. I mean, if you really want to scare ur kids, n don’t love them then this is right place! I am literally thinking since yesterday that why did I go these people 🙁

My daughter had her first real hair cut here. Bang did a great job. Very nice to the children. Asks you how you like the length , the bangs, etc along the way so it’s done to the parents liking. We had a good time and my daughter loved her hair cut. They have bows there for the girls to choose from and they will style the hair.

My 3 year old daughter had her first haircut here and it was a very pleasant experience. The staff member was excellent handling my daughter. And for a first time experience was very happy. The lady gave us a memento first time haircut certificate with a lock of hair which was sweet.
