I’ve been getting my hair done by Jenny for 7 years. She’s taken me from fixing an overgrown pixie mullet, to longer auburn hair, to a bright blonde bob. She is incredibly talented at foils, balayage, and cuts. She ensures that your hair maintains its health while getting as light as possible. The atmosphere at the salon is always great- clean, beautiful, and fun. Shout out to new addition Alexa and her fantastic shampoo massage!

The Natural Beaded Row Hair Extensions I receive from Lauren at Candela Hair Studio make my salon days enjoyable. The team is so friendly and warm, and although installation days are long, I always look forward to them. The space is nicely designed and comfortable. Lauren could not be kinder or more professional. She is incredibly talented. In the past, I never thought I could afford hair extensions, but now that I can, I’m never looking back. Candela’s team wants to make sure you’re happy with your results, and they look so natural. I found the team to be very responsive and engaged with feedback, and when I needed some adjustments made to my installation, Jenny was very empathetic and helpful. I am very particular about my hair. That said, I want to compliment Candela Hair Studio for their professionalism, cleanliness, and constant meticulous work. Jenny is the owner and is a true artist specializing in extensions and color correction etc. She has been my stylist for years. However, I currently see Tiffany. Her work hours coordinated well with my availability. And I am not sorry she does my hair now. She too is very up on current styles, meticulous with her styling, and I LOVE the highlights she does for me. I have been around long enough to see Tiffany come out of school, apprentice with Jenny, and then build her own clientele. Tiffany is a true hair “artist”!! ❤️

I first discovered this hair studio 2.5 years ago and haven’t used another salon since! Lauren always does my hair, she is so kind and incredibly talented. Everytime I walk out with the perfect blonde balayage and any ideas I have for color or style she brings to life. I almost hate to leave this review because my stylist was so sweet, but I went to Candela on the basis of online reviews, and my experience did not live up to what I read. I recently moved to Andover from Boston and was reluctant to leave my colorist in Boston, but the drive to the city was getting time-consuming, so thought I’d try an Andover salon. As requested prior to my appointment, I sent in a picture of my current hair and my “desired look”, even though I’ve been getting my hair highlighted for 30 years so I’m pretty confident and knowledgable about what I like. However, I wanted to be open-minded, so I sent a pic. After applying the highlights, she used a toner, which is something my regular colorist didn’t do (and I had had a less than optimal experience before – I have dark blonde natural hair and like a light, bright blonde). I was nervous about the toner , but I wanted to trust her expertise and not micro-manage the coloring. As I feared, the toner actually “dulled” the blonde and the color wasn’t exactly what I wanted. That being said, I decided to give her another shot because she seemed so conscientious. When I arrived for my color touch-up 6 weeks later, I was as kind but honest about how I felt about the previous color and told her I wanted a light, bright cool blonde and that I hadn’t had a great experience with toners previously, so maybe we should just throw some foils in to brighten it up rather than use a toner. She convinced me that we could use a different toner to get the effect I was after. Sadly, that wasn’t the case, and the color ended up being a dark, ashy blonde, the exact opposite of what I was looking for. I was pretty disappointed, and again, I was loathe to write this review, but if someone like me is looking for a new colorist based on online reviews, I thought it was fair to say that this salon did not live up to the other reviews I read. I consulted a friend of mine who’s a colorist after the fact and she said the reason the toner didn’t work is because my natural color is relatively light, and toners are typically used for people who have a darker shade of natural hair color and are going blonde, in order to remove brassiness. Now that I know that’s the reason not to use a toner moving forward, I will certainly mention this to future colorists.
