Initial visit was excellent. Was seen on time by the doctor, diagnosis made & treatment prescribed. Followup visit was anything but satisfactory. Led to exam room where I waited for just over 40 minutes beyond my appointment time. Doctor came in, no apology or explained as to why she was late. In the room less than 10 minutes & gone again. Received a bill for $139.00. NOT happy at all. Sorry, can not give a glowing recommendation.

Dr. Lavigne is one of the most patient and empathic dermatologists I’ve ever encountered. She is fastidious with her surgical work and devotes a lot of time to her patients during appointments. She is soft spoken, caring and overall a pleasure to converse with. I recommend her highly!!!

My initial experience over a year ago was ok. I waited 20-30 minutes past my scheduled appointment, but the receptionist was pleasant enough about it. I was perturbed that I did not see an actual doctor, just an aid, and was still charged over $120, but was not surprised knowing the cost of medical care. My real issue came recently. I was contacted via a text message about what must have been an automatically scheduled annual follow-up. I was unable to attend, so responded that I would like to reschedule. I was never contacted to re-schedule, but rather received a $50 no show bill. When I contacted the office, I was very bluntly told that, “we did not receive your message, so we lost money because of you”. I totally understand that their time is valuable, which is why I tried to reschedule using their provided feature (see attached photo). I won’t be going here again, as it seems they are more interested in collecting unfair “no-show” fees to pad their bottom line than they are actually providing good medical care.

I was seen by Dr. MINTON. This was the quickest skin check I’ve ever had! There was no discussion of my extensive family history of melanoma! Dr. Minton made a very inappropriate comment during this quick check. I know Dr. Lavigne has a wonderful reputation but she was unavailable to see me. I will not go back and was very disappointed in the overall care I received. I do not recommend Dr. Minton despite “his years of experience”! Seems to me he needs to retire.

Dr. Lavigne is a professional colleague of mine who I have had the pleasure of knowing for the past year. She is a conscientious, ethical, hard working and extremely talented dermatologist. I have no doubt that the residents of the Camden area feel fortunate to have a dermatologist of her caliper serving them, and that she feels privileged to have this opportunity. I would personally choose her as a dermatologist for myself and my family, which means one could say that she is a “dermatologist’s dermatologist.”

If I could review Camden Dermatology with a lower than one star rating I would. After waiting over four months to get into the offices, to which I find because the doctor had decided to shy away from Maine Med, I would not have it covered under my insurance. To then the day of the appointment go in for my first visit to have to wait 45 minutes to be seen by first the nurse and another 20 minutes to be seen for 8 minutes by the actual doctor. The nurse expressed the same concerns not only my naturopath had given me about my skin condition. Recommded the same medication that would take care of my problems. The doctor however, with the entirety of her 8 minutes to tell me I had acne. To which she prescribed two medications to clear it up. One being a medication to counteract with other health concerns I expressed in my visit. To which I called and tried to re explain why I couldn’t take it. After receiving a bill, one that is well over priced for the treatment I didn’t actually receive I called to get a payment plan set up. As I was hopeful my insurance would have covered this visit. I expressed my feelings of my treatment on the phone as well as a nicely written note to the offices of Camden Demratology. I did not receive an apology for my treatment. You see, I went to another dermatologist, who also stood by my naturopaths estimate on my skin condition. An appointment (also me being a new patient) walked right into. Was made to feel comfortable and not rushed. This doctor also prescribed me a medication. That within two weeks time cleared up my skin. They also looked at my skin closely and seemed to do a much more thorough diagnosis. I am grateful to this other doctor. Otherwise If I didn’t advocate for my health I would have still been suffering from what medications Camden Dermatology recommended. It was also noted my problems would only be exacerbated by what she was going to prescribe me. I suggest to stay away from this office. They do not care about you or your health. They don’t take a complaint seriously, poor customer service. They over book patients. Make you wait long months to get in and over charge for services not rendered.
