My experience at California Sun is inconsistent there are wonderful relaxing visits with very sweet helpful employees, and there are frustrating visits. Here is an example of one type of frustrating visit. Let’s say you have an hour and there’s four people in line in front of you and you have to listen to the lotion sell speech four different times, then hear them talk about financial stuff with the person right in front of you then they will take the time to call corporate, but not help the next person in line while they’re waiting…. On hold. That will take up the first 10 minutes of the visit, the bed you want will most likely be taken so you’ll pick a different bed, and tell the employee you want that bed next, then when you get out of that bed will be three more people waiting in line you’ll have to wait in line again, then you’ll hear the person in front of you take the bed that you want, and you will hear the lotion sale pitch again, so now we’re down to 30 minutes left in your visit and you’ve had one service done. You pick another room, but the problem is the only thing you really wanted to do that day is the 20 min cocoon bed, if you do another service, your going to have to wait in line again, possibly not getting the bed you want again and even if the bed is available, you are now going to go over the hour that you had. The other alternative would be to just wait for the bed to open and only get one to two services done in 1 hour. If you had a lower price membership and you will only were doing basic tan beds or the mid-range tanning membership you would probably be fine, but if you have the ambassador membership that includes the salon services it does end up being frustrating. It’s not always like this, a lot of times I get right in and I’m very happy but it’s very inconsistent and it’s very difficult to plan my day. There has got to be a better way for time management and system flow for the clients that spend the most amount of money. Another critique of mine would be that the staff are very educated about lotions but if you ask the same questions to different staff members you’re going to get different answers, some of the members aren’t very friendly or helpful and others are great it’s just very inconsistent. For example I met a very nice older lady who had just gotten the ambassador club membership a few days before, she was planning a trip to Mexico and wanted to pretan. she had no idea that she had access to the salon services, what those services include and what the benefits of them would be and she was burned from her first tanning session a few days before, I’m guessing she got the not helpful not friendly staff member, they got credit for signing her up but didn’t do any education. To be fair that lady actually signed up at the pleasant Grove location but this is not uncommon in my other interactions with members in Lincoln.

Staff are friendly, equipment is nice & clean. My complaint is with the corporate over charging, double charging customers, & not willing to work with the their customers at all to resolve problems at all. The say you have a contract that I was never given or saw, won’t refund your money, and hold your membership as ransom so you can’t use it but continue to charge your account with out allowing you accessibility.

I found this place to be clean, friendly and wonderful beds. Unfortunately the management of California Sun is disreputable to say the least. It is too long of a boring story, just let me say they will cheat you at every turn, if you want to use the facility on occasion, great. Don’t go on a monthly basis or you will be cheated. I’m not the first to talk about this.

Make sure you read there contract before you sign for the promotion .its not just the promotion that your signing up for but it’s the membership so After the promotion is done you then get charged $80 monthly
