Today I got a fabulous cut, color/highlight and blowout with David Nieves! He took the time to listen to what I was looking for as it had been a while since I had anyone do my hair. Not only did David provide me a beautiful new hairstyle but he also renewed my self-confidence!! David was so warm and friendly throughout the appointment and he clearly enjoys his job. I am so excited to show off my new look! I highly recommend David and the Cactus Salon in Commack!

Very unprofessional. Stylist and receptionists lie to customers. I cancelled because of health issues and they cancelled a few times. They cancelled twice when I was running late and another time they had put the wrong date in the book and blamed me. The last time they told me my stylist left early because she wasn’t feeling well. I was concerned and sent her my best. I later found out it was not true. Also, when I called back to reschedule they told me she was blocked out for a couple of weeks. Another lie as I found out. Very strange and bizarre behavior. I would not return there if they offered me free services for life.

I have to say some of these reviews are highly comical and ridiculous. I have been going here for a few months now and I have had a pleasant experience each and every time. David is so sweet and talented! I came in from a Groupon and purchased additional blowouts. He is super quick and I love how I can be in and out in 35 minutes. I love the Amika haircare line as well. I think everyone should give them a shot!

Very upset to find out that this business is the one taking over where pet project was. Maybe you should’ve googled the owner and saw all his lawsuits against him before moving. Only a matter of time before he kicks you guys out of that space also. Nothing has lasted there not even his own pet store. I overheard a conversation he had with his workers about how he was keeping the pet store there and dividing the store. So on top of everything else the man is a liar.

She did such a beautiful job for me and my family that one of my sisters planned on not getting hers done and then saw Kates outstanding work and asked her to squeeze her in also! Kate is kind, enjoyable, and soooo talented. She understood my vision and added her professional touch for the perfect hair style. My hair length was down to my butt. I told David I wanted the length to be at the end of my bra. He even showed me where he would cut it before my hair was washed, and I agreed. When it was time to cut my hair. he pulled my hair back and cut it at the TOP of my bra. I did not see until the very end. As someone who has had long hair her entire life, this is a traumatic experience for me. There’s nothing that can be done to fix it, and its going to take a toll on my confidence until it grows back. I had used a groupon so it was already paid for. They didn’t make me redeem it, but I honestly feel like I deserve some compensation for how negatively this impacts me. David was very sweet, but ultimately ruined my hair.

I asked for long curtain bangs and long, subtle layers and i even told her before she started cutting that i did not want her to go any shorter than the tip of my nose and i also only asked for 2 inches cut off. She cut me bangs up to my eyebrows, cut AT LEAST 4 inches off, and made the layers so choppy. One side was also shorter than the other. If you go to get a hair cut and the person cutting is a young person with dark hair and dark makeup, ASK FOR ANOTHER PERSON. this haircut ruined my self confidence.

Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, PunctualityThe 5 stars are because of the service and attention I received from Melissa.I had gone to the salon earlier in the day for a hair color from another stylist and was not happy with the color that was done. I wanted a dark auburn and somehow ended up with a bright orange. Needless to say I was very unhappy and called back to get it corrected.When I arrived Melissa took the time to ask me questions, had me look up pictures to show her the color I wanted, and made suggestions to get the desired color. She did not rush me along and made sure I was happy with the results. Never have I had a colorist take so much time to make sure that the color was what I had originally wanted. While I had felt a bit uncomfortable and was a bit apprehensive upon returning for the appointment Melissa took the time to reassure me that she would do all that she had to to get the color I wanted.I never write reviews but felt compelled to write this as Melissa turned a negative experience into a positive one and because of the time and care she took with me I will most definitely be returning to the salon to see her.The 5 stars are because of the service and attention I received from Melissa.I had gone to the salon earlier in the day for a hair color from another stylist …More
