This was my first time at her hair salon and I decided to get a haircut from her solely based on online reviews.I arrived and immediately explained that I was looking to layer my hair, add some bangs, and to please not lose the length which is something I really wanted to keep. She asked me to show her how much I was willing to cut off, and I did.She executed flawlessly. She gave me exactly what I asked and explained the cut as she went along. It made me comfortable and I was glad she was explaining how she was going about layering my hair and why. I now have texture and volume!!The environment of her salon is warm, welcoming, and relaxing. Tisha has diverse background experiences that clearly contribute to how she approaches the fundamentals of hair, styling, and overall creativity. I was very impressed with her.At the end, I asked for her opinion on what color she thinks would suit my hair as I am a natural brunette. Critical: ValueI went in for a curly haircut with James. I specifically asked to not have the length taken out. He started by shortening the length – quite a bit actually. He didn’t seem to take in consideration the patterns of my curls when cutting them. He parted my hair in sections in a painful way, it wasn’t a comfortable experience, my eyes were watering. I ended up with the right side looking different from the left side. It’s like I got two different haircuts. He removed all the weight from my hair, it doesn’t dry beautifully anymore. My hair no longer has movement. It’s bizarre. It’s been a few weeks, no more good hair days ever since. I’m even thinking about relaxing my curls a little bit because I don’t see any other solution. And it wasn’t cheap! I paid almost $145. I was MUCH happier cutting my hair myself for the last 10 years. Frustrating experience.Service: Curly hairI went in for a curly haircut with James. I went in for a curly haircut with James. I specifically asked to not have the length taken out. He started by shortening the length – quite a bit actually. I shouldn’t be charged nearly 2.5x as much as a women with straight hair because I was born with curls. I booked a $55+ cut online and was charged $125 without knowing until the very end of my appointment. I didn’t even have more than an inch cut off… My first and last time coming here. I wanted a trim. A TRIM. I think this place is trying to capitalize on curly haired women. I shouldn’t be charged nearly 2.5x as much as a women with straight hair because I was born with curls. I booked a $55+ cut online and was charged $125 without knowing until the very end of my appointment. I didn’t even have more than an inch cut off… My first and last time coming here. Also, not a very clean salon.

I went and created an entire inspiration album for James based off of mostly pictures from previous cuts he’s done so we were on the same page. The first red flag I got when I sat in his chair was when he told me his partner said he better not mess up because I’m the type of client that knew exactly what I wanted. I am. And he did not deliver at all. I’m giving him 2 stars because he did successfully cut off all of my split ends, but the shape of my hair is awful. Before this cut the majority of my hair days were good days, since this cut the majority are poor. After my cut he suggested I go home and style it myself then come back for touch ups.
