Here is the honest to God’s truth. I have tried JB multiple times for my hair trying to support black businesses. I don’t like giving bad reviews to black businesses but it is time for black people to stop taking money from black patrons knowingly and willingly. Each time I left feeling taken advantage of. This past October 2022 I had my dreadlocks retwisted, with a wash, and style. When I took my hair down a week later it was as if she never touched it. I informed her of this by text and she responded by showing me a picture of the back of someone else’s head. When I said that is not me she never responded back. It is a shame to act this way. People don’t want to be wrong and be held accountable for their wrongs because of PRIDE. The time before this time I set an appointment,, waited hours, and when she showed she gave me a long drawn out excuse, but stated I can see you later and we can restart your dreads from scratch. Fortunately, God saved my hair and sent me to someone who kept my length and hair. All this to say she offered no remedy for the half done hair and no apology. Yet God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit sees all and my God says thou shall not touch or mistreat his anointed. I rest in him for vindication.

JB did my hair and all 5 of my wedding party. She is extremely fast and creative. I got a TON of compliments about the unique way she incorporated braids around a head band of flowers. Someone said it reminded her of basket weaving. It was there in a way that also held the heavy weight of the flowers in place- brilliant. Even from a normally quiet new husband, he just loved it. The other ladies each got something creatively unique. In addition to talented, JB has a personality that lights up a room. We needed it as we didn’t all know each other well. Being all from across the country we haven’t spent much time together as a family yet. Much love as I can’t say enough about how enchanting JB helped to make my special day. THANK YOU!

Enjoyed my visit with JB. She was unable to take care of me; not because of anything within her power. I appreciate the fact that she didn’t. I have fine hair and she told me truthfully, that she didn’t think it was long enough to do what I wanted done. I appreciate the fact that she didn’t rip me off, like a shop did in Jackson Ms. a short time ago. Thank you for your honesty. I will be taking care of my hair, the ways you suggested, and will be calling you again in a few months for a follow-up. Hopefully my hair is long enough at that time. Critical: Professionalism, Quality, ValueVery disappointed when I looked at my hair! there’s no point in staying and arguing once the work was already done. Very uneven, all over the place, not very neat. Now im going to have to cut my hair tomorrow!Sigh… where do I start. From the moment I walked in I kinda since attitude. I was hoping that she would start over on my dreads but when I asked her about it she aggressively shook her head no. I started to leave right then and there but instead I kept telling myself to give her a chance. My dreds was already messed up from the previous beautician so I was hoping that she would save them but in stead it was even worse.When it was my time for service, I walked up and was trying to explain to her about my situation hoping that she would understand but she was not listening to me. She aggressively said, “have a seat.” I felt very rushed like she was ready to get out of there. My anxiety was kicking in but I didn’t show it.It was a very uncomfortable unprofessional situation for me. During the time she was doing my hair her child ran into me twice with his basket toy. I don’t blame the child I blame the supervision. It seems like to me she just wanted to make a quick buck before they closed for the day. Had to walk out…because she literally told me one minute before doing my hair she wanted to charge an additional $25 to secure my braids…I said o.k. she started…not securing them… I left because it was making me angry…I was able to run my fingers through my hair and have them unravel. I did not care about the money or the hair that I left at her salon…just wanted to leave before I said something that would hurt her feelings in front of children…not going back.
