I just moved up to the area and was looking for a stylist for my curly hair. I saw all of the great reviews for Bovane so I scheduled an appointment. He really takes his time talking to you to make sure you’re going to be happy with what he’s doing. Bovane goes over all of your options and the pros and cons of each choice.

I have an appreciation for people who really dive into things, and it’s apparent that Bovane has put in the work and time to understand hair. This was probably the most thoughtful and technical hair cut I’ve ever gotten (and I just asked for long [but wild] layers). Throughout the process he explained the what’s and why’s of what he was doing. He even took the time to take photos of areas I otherwise wouldn’t be able to see. It made for an interesting learning experience. (It also made me realize that my previous stylist was really just having a field day in my hair and I wasn’t taking note because of said wildness.)

Amy and Bovane are great. No waiting, took me right in. I hadn’t had my haircut in a long time due to trying to find someone new. I got my haircut about 6 weeks ago and I love my haircut everyday. I’ve only been to Bovane twice and my hair is already 1000% better than it was before. I’ve literally been hunting for a curly stylist in this area for years. I’ve had my hair butchered and fried more times than I can count and yes I checked their reviews. All I ever wanted was for someone to get rid of the ‘tail’ that curly hair sometimes gets as it grows out and he’s the first person to actually understand what I’m asking for. He steers me away from cuts I think I want but I might not actually want and he walks me through the exact type of damage in my hair and what he’s doing to fix it with pictures! I’ve done an olaplex treatment both times and it’s really helped my curls come back to life. I had half my hair bleached and it messed with my curl pattern but they’re slowly coming back to life. We have really nice conversations every time I’m in his chair and we really get to know each other! Having a relationship with your stylist is so important. They need to know you! They need to feel comfortable telling you that what you want may not work for your hair. And I get to know him as well! Amy his assistant is always so sweet and she checks with me after my appointment to make sure I’m happy. I was expecting to pay out my a** for a curly service but it was 80 for the cut and 80$ for the treatment and it was worth every cent. If you have curly hair I highly recommend coming to see Bovane. I’m moving to Syracuse in a few months and I will absolutely be traveling 3 1/2 hours to stick with him. I’m not risking my hair or my mental health to find someone closer

I’ve been very pleased with my haircuts. Bovane listens to you and takes time with the cut. He explains what he is doing and even takes pictures that he can refer to for comparisons. I have wavy to curly hair and have had a really hard time getting my hair shaped so that it is easy to style, looks good and feels good. My hair is thin and patchy in the back and has been a a struggle. After one haircut my hair looks the best that is has in over 10 years!!!! He knew exactly what my hair needed ( I am not good at explaining) and now my hair falls into place with very little effort and it feels so much better. I highly recommend him, he is excellent!!!
